  • Hi everybody.

    Currently I am trying to use the Video plugin to create some kind of splash screen. In the beginning of my game I have a layout with only one object: Video object, the purpose of this object is to play a video, which I have already imported to my project, that will simulate an animated intro splash screen and, when it finishes, the main menu will appear. My problem is that whether I use cocoonjs launcher or I import my game using Intel XDK as crosswalk android app the video will never start and instead a plain white screen will appear. In the video plugin documentation says something about the plugin being unable to play a video unless a touch event is used to trigger the video, of course I would reather avoid such a thing since I am trying to create a splash screen but even following this workaround I was unable to play any video whatsoever.

    I would appreciate any help you could give me.

  • rexrainbow Thank you so much!! now it works

  • rexrainbow First of all, Thank you for such a wonderful plugin. Now, when I try to open the sample .capx, with C2 r167 release it says something like this:

    ---------------------------

    Construct 2 Check failure

    ---------------------------

    Check failure! This is probably a bug:

    Loading sprite from pre-r47 project but can't find its old-style texture

    Condition: FileExists(file.c_str())

    File: Projects\ObjectType.cpp

    Line: 619

    Function: class std::unique_ptr<class ObjectType,struct std::default_delete<class ObjectType> > __cdecl ObjectType::CreateFromXmlElement(class ObjectFolder &,const class xml::element &,bool,const class ObjectType *)

    Build: release 167 (64-bit) checked

    Component: Construct 2 IDE

    (Last Win32 error: 3)

    You are using a 'checked' release of Construct 2, intended for testing, which causes certain errors to be reported this way. Hit Ctrl+C to copy this messagebox - it's useful information for the developers, so please include it with any bug reports! Click 'Abort' to quit (unsaved data will be lost!),'Retry' to turn off messages for this session and continue, or 'Ignore' to continue normally.

    Anular Reintentar Omitir

    could you do something about it please?, or could you give me some indications about this bug so I can fix it my self?. Thank you again!

  • Supposing that you already know how to add behaviours to objects, the basic idea is this:

    EventSheet

    • make your object find an endpoint (there is always a start point and an endpoint even if you do fancy thinks like teletransportation o even a pathfinding loop, the start point is the actual x,y point where your pathfinder object is standing in the moment it starts moving towards the chosen path, the endpoint is the position you want your pathfinder to reach), it could be the position of another object or whatever you want depending on what you want to achieve. This can be achieved with the "find path" action.
    • Use the on path found event in order to "tell" your object to start doing something the moment it finds the path toward the desired endpoint.
    • In the on path found event use the action "Move along path" to tell the object to follow the path already found (pretty obvious maybe but just in case ) .
  • Hi everybody.

    Today I would like to ask: How do I create new Webgl shader effects?. Does anybody knows of a good tutorial to begin programming webgl shader effects?

  • Thank you all of you guys for all your feedback. I wanted to thank all of you before but It has been a tough month for both, my brother and I. We will consider all your comments to make this game a lot better, again, thank you all.

  • Well... my brother is the lead designer I am only the code guy xD. I think he used zbrush, after effects and mmm quicktime to create the video. I am not pretty sure so I will ask him and I will let you know .

  • TiAm wow the truth is that I appreciate all your constructive criticism. The only thing I have to say here is: Thanks a lot. All the things you say are true, and as you can see me and my brother are alone on this and have no experience on crowdfunding. Ill try and fix everything I can. Again thanks a lot, I hope every viewer could give their feedback as you did
