  • You make sure it's ticked with "Or" then add another action into the event, and the word "OR" will appear inbetween the two actions.

I tried this particular example and took a look at it.

I can confirm there is indeed some sort of glitch occuring. Pretty interesting, wonder how you found it haha

  • I can confirm this.

This is kinda entertaining for me, I'm throwing all sorts of stuff onto the NodeWebkit window like MP3's and stuff :P

  • Putting a Local Variable inside a group at the very top will make that variable work throughout that group :P

I'm not sure how Scirra handles licensing exactly, but I do think that it handles it very well. If a user decided to release their license, then well, once the license is out there and being used amongst multiple computers suddenly, it can be blacklisted and no longer work if the user remains online (I think. I don't know if Scirra receives any data when someone uses a license file on a new IP address or anything).

I think piracy isn't a real threat. If, say a student, makes little income, and there's software they want (E.G Flash) that costs hundreds, they'll never really be able to pay for that anytime soon, so the company looses no money whether they can pirate or not. (And you've got to admit, the amount of people using Flash out there making animations, I somehow highly doubt that every single person began with a paid version)

Also, agreeing with CJK , having a company that makes a great product at a great price, or a band makes a great album and you've heard it beforehand to know how good it is, then the user would probably be more inclined to purchase it ultimately to support the developers (unless the person is insanely greedy, in which case, he'd find the cheapest way to acquire it for free regardless).

My most favourite thing about C2's license is, the cheapness, and the fact that the only requirement is that IF you make a tonne of quids, THEN you pay a small portion and that's it, you're free to continue (unlike shelling out ?600 and possibly never make that money back)

    I'm rambling <img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I've been having this problem too when I export in NodeWebkit, it didn't look blurry when I ran it through preview, but thought it was something I was doing wrong and have been looking into it. Seems to go away if I increase the size of the window when it's exported though.

  • Jayjay I've seen this mentioned alot lol, but never experimented with it, I guess due to lack of me knowing what to do with "node.js". I'm aware it only transmits via TCP and not UDP but I literally just don't understand how to setup and use node.js. Do you know of any guides that could be handy?

EDIT: My first google search of looking into "Node.js" and turns out it's software...I never knew this. I genuinely thought it was a Javascript file that you're supposed to modify and stuff due to it's name haha. This might be a lot easier than I thought..

  • Thar be no official support with Online Multiplayer as of now, but possibly the future, hopefully the near future. If you're new to game making, you should probably learn a bit of game logic before diving into a project the size of an MMORPG, though I'm not stopping you!

  • I've seen these mentioned before (as you've said), and whilst I do like most of the suggestions, I do believe Ashley adds everything to his todo list. He just codes things that have a higher priority (I'm guessing it's things that are wanted by many people, rather than small niche things).

Also, whilst I'm not totally sure, we may be underestimating how time-consuming it is for Ashley to produce certain things, even seemingly simple things like "bookmarks" and stuff in a quick amount of time, therefore, things need to be prioritised and less niche things are developed first.

If it was easy to make all the features that people request for Construct 2, then Ashley would have added everything within days, and we'd see MANY game-creating software similar to Construct 2 out there. <img src="smileys/smiley16.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I got confused at the screenshots, events already get indented for subevents which neatens things up :P it'd get awfully confusing if you could indent anything.

czar , I totally feel your pain, it usually happens when the window for Construct 2 shrinks small then maximises, all the columns are pushed to the side. :P

  • Hmm, I'm not sure about how the updating works in the Steam version, but yeah, your projects will run in the newer versions (but you can't open projects that are saved in newer versions of Construct 2 in an older version)

And Third part plugins sometimes mess up after an update, but it's not common. Contacting the plugin developer can usually help with that :P
