  • Ok Thanks a lot. Didnt think about a global variable and the "system" functions. Thanks a lot !

  • Hi,

very sorry for the very late reply. Below is a short and stripped version of the game I?m trying to make, don?t mind the graphics or the setup or anything else it?s just for testing.

What I?m trying to get at is that when a player hits and destroys two pink boxes, one pink box that has fallen to the floor dissapears. Any idea how to do that ?

    Thanks a lot either way,

  • Hi,

Im creating a game where I want all sprite objects that have fallen to the ground to disappear when the player reaches a certain score ? I tried working with variables and booleans but I cant seem to manage having a group of objects being destroyed.

Is there a way this can be done ?

    Thanks a lot !

  • Nimtrix, thanks a lot <img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> !! I was struggeling with it for a couple of days and didn't want to bother the locals too much, I came close but your solution is a lot easier and cleaner. It was just what I was looking for.

    Hi Guys,

I was wondering if it is possible to make the following feature: after having thrown an object, make it hover in the air for a second or four before falling to the ground. A right mouse click should then make it fall instantly

I tried working with gravity but it doesnt seem to really do the trick.

The idea would be to build a small platform game, where the player has to set his own stepping blocks by throwing them to get to a destination.

    Any tips ?

    Grtz,

    J.

  • Yes thats it, just the number of pixels on the Y ax relative to the player. Thanks !

  • Idd, I thought using animation wouldn't work out allright but it did. Just one quick question though, how did you figure out the positon Player.Y-60 for the object to be created there?

  • ,

Thanks a bunch, this will give me a lot to play around with.

  • Yeah sorry about the second post, but I thought I would have to use another way. I didn't get to far through the documentation today, but I used some of the tips I got and this is what I have so far: dl.dropbox.com/u/23570533/Game.capx

The box is unpinned and it gets thrown away (sort of at least). I'll brows through the docs some more to find out how to make it land on the bottom and make it fly in a certain angle.

I stopped combining Platform and Physics for the "Player" sprite and will just use events to trigger simple movement.

I'll check out some more forum posts. Thanks a bunch !

This is the link. For some reason the PNG pics don't show but the if you approch the bigger object with the smaller object you should be able to lift it by clicking your left mouse. The next step should be to throw it away again but if you hit the right mouse it just triggers the "unpin" action, not the physics.

If anybody has a general tip on how to make a player lift up a box an throw it a couple of pixels further away, be happy to hear it.

    Thanks,

    J.

  • I don't know how to attach it, but these are the events I've got so far:

    1. Mouse on left button clicked + player is overlapping Box > box set position to player (image point 1) + pin to player

    2. Mouse on right button clicked + box pin is pinned > pin unpin + apply force 5 towards position (Player.X+5,Player.Y+5, imagepoint 0)

The Player has Platform behaviour, the box Pin behaviour and Physics behaviour.

Does that tell you anything usefull ?

    Cheers,

  • Hi,

I'm trying to get my player to lift up a box and then be able to throw it out again.

If you hit the left mouse, the box is pinned to the player's image point.

Once pinned you can unpin it by hitting the right mouse but a second action attached to that event (right clicking the mouse when the object is pinned) should evoke a pysics force 5 and hurdle the box away to a defined position.

Only, the box just unpins, falls to the floor and the physics action is ignored.

Any help on how to make my box get thrown away ? Did I make a mistake using the "pin" behaviour to simulate lifting up the box and keeping it lifted ?

    Thanks,

    J.

  • Allright great,

the "pin box to player" already worked out great. I'm browsing through the Physics docs right now to see how far I get. Any other tips are welcome.

    Cheers,

  • Hi Guys,

I'm trying to build a funcion where a player picks up a box or something and then is able to throw it to the ground again. I'm completely new to construct so I was wondering if any of you might have a CAPX file to show the functionalityof something like that.

    Great Thanks,

    Jana
