  • Have I gone too far for a simple upgrade screen?

Don't like the editing , makes my mouth and chin look REALLY weird.

    And nose.

  • I love strategy games more than any other genre so it's good to see other people besides myself using Construct to make RTSs and such. Top-down 3D looks nice and the explosion is cool, I wish you luck in completing this project and I hope it turns out great.

Are you planning to keep the background texture, though? I think it looks a little off, but maybe that's because the models aren't distinctly textured yet.

Oh hell no , the background is just temporary because driving around in a pure white background doesn't give me any sense of direction. The background will be changed.

  • Taking advantage of Construct's 3D object , I'm in the process of making an RTS

A standard tank with the basic Machine gun Prefab

This is the main testing program : I've already implemented relatively nice looking explosions , ricochets , bullets , unit highlighting & ordering , movement , random 'civ' building placement for random maps ... and so on. I can test each unit I make in here to 'export' to the main program.

Viewing the heavy tank in the Model Viewer

This is my other testing ground to make sure every Model I make it zeroed in on each other so I don't have to use trigonometry to move about models. It's a model viewer.

The game will play just like command and conquer ( yet much faster and easier). Because of the lack of animations , instead of Infantry you will have access to "Prefabs" - Small vehicles which act almost exactly the same , yet heftier and more powerful than standard infantry.

Cyclone will also feature an Indisclosed gamemode which should make the game incredibly fun and replayable online*

  • the birth of an RTS

I'm only testing a single unit and a bunch of other stuff.

75% models , all made by me. Will try to rely heavily on models for maximum cool.

also includes bonus model viewer which unfortunately has to be tweaked from the .cap as for some reason you can't change the model being opened through any events.

  • Probably the vaguest topic title ever , but I'm constantly getting this problem.

Whenever I get an object such as bullet , I want it to spawn a glow sprite around it to give it a tracer effect. However , if I do this , it'll follow the bullet , stay , and wait for another bullet . If I increase the firing of the bullet , the light will then quickly move to the last bullet fired after it is destroyed.

What can I add in to the event , so it basically goes "THAT bullet will spawn THIS light and THIS light will follow THAT bullet" instead of " THAT bullet will spawn THIS light and lights will follow bullets"

    Thanks

  • Construct needs a "jingle" anyway.

I'm sure there are a bunch of people here that could make a track , instead of going to the royalty free stuff.

  • From the version of construct I have , when I want to change the color filter on a sprite , it only accepts a predefined color.

Wouldn't an improvement be to actually have R G and B values? Because if I wanted a really badly looking laser sight , instead of randomly switching from one set color to another ,I could just do:

    R:

    200+(ceil(random(55))

which would give it a random bright reddish color.

  • A reboot of my old 3D proof of concept with all the new features available to Sprite displacement since then (Z axis, Z buffer, etc).

I'll upload an exe once I get a bit further and make things more efficient (Backface culling, etc).

    Model borrowed from http://www.3dtake.com/2009/08/girl-3d-m ... tures.html.

How... How did you do that?

  • So is this just a random album , or is it for an actual game?

Sounds to be like the former.

  • If this writes at a speed , can there please be an output which is triggered whenever it "types" so we can have some sort of typewriter sound added in

  • Oh god , transitions don't work.

this is actually a terrible build
