  • Problem Description

After installing the Scirra Greenworks plugin, the game runs as a black screen window. More notes: steam_api.dll is in packages.nw, steam game build points to nw.exe, and there is a steam_appid.txt with the app id. This is a node webkit build.

    Attach a Capx

    Description of Capx

Note: The CapX doesn't seem to matter, I've trimmed it down to a simple green box.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Install greenworks plugin.
    • Export Node Webkit build.
    • Create steam_appid.txt and put steam_api.dll in package.nw.
    • Run game from steam (or not) and user will see a black window.

    Observed Result

Run game from steam (or not) and user will see a black window.

    Expected Result

    The game runs.

    Affected Browsers

    N/A

    Operating System and Service Pack

Windows 10 Home Build Version 1511 Build 10586.420

    Construct 2 Version ID

Version 227 NW 0.14.0 I have also tried newer versions of NW.

    Thanks for any help!

Edit: Steamworks Version 137. Maybe this is the issue?

I just get a black screen when i try to add the greenworks plugin and launch the game. Its like, its not loading the game but just opens a black screen :/

I'm also getting this issue. I have installed the plugin, added the dll to the package.nw, and the text file with the app id. Logged into steam, downloaded beta branch, and I get a black screen. Seems like it's still getting a java error, only not reporting it, since it's an exported build.

Has anyone had luck fixing this issue?

  • Still an issue for me? Does anyone have any information? Would Scirra respond to a request to fix it so NW will support it?

  • Hey everybody,

I'm trying to track general player analytics (player choices, death locations, etc). I set up a system using AJAX and php to a mysql database. It worked great, until I realized it doesn't work when doing a Node Webkit build.

Is there a better way to track player analytics on a Node Webkit build?

    Thanks
