  • Hehe, no - that's what I was talking about:

    I don't really want to install an unstable FF-Version, so I'll wait for the next regular FF-Update. <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I don't know, I prefer my releases stable.

Guess I'll report back with the next regular update.

Looks like I'm the only one having that problem anyway...

  • Hi!

I'm not quite sure this is the right place, because I don't even know if this really is a C2 Bug:

Eversince I updated to Firefox 22, all C2 Games started to stutter and FF almost melts the CPU. It seems to be somehow related to that newly implemented "OdinMonkey" thing I'm not really sure about what it exactly is or does - it's supposed to generally improve stuff, as far as I know.

    Fact is:

If "javascript.options.asmjs" is disabled in FF, the games run smoothly again.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Enable "javascript.options.asmjs" in Firefox 22 about:config (if neccessary)

    2. Play a game/Start a preview

    Observed result:

    Game stutters, CPU nearly explodes

    Expected result:

    none of the above

    Browsers affected:

    Chrome: ?

    Firefox: yes

    Internet Explorer: ?

    Operating system & service pack:

    XP SP3, FF 22

    Construct 2 version:

    132

Plus my start page looks like this:

  • Muco:

I tried it that way, but it caused some issues that messed up the gameplay and I wasn't really able to resolve. Most adventure games won't let the player move while talking, so I decided to stick with that.

I'm thinking about letting the player cut the dialogues by pressing a mouse button, though.

    TELLES0808

I'm not quite sure, do you mean the player should be able to skip the introduction? That's definitely a good idea and shall be done ^^

    Thank you both very much! <img src="smileys/smiley42.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Maybe you could give that static "Idle" animation frame a duration of 2 seconds (in the animation editor via "speed") and then 'on animation finished' set the animation to "IdleTap"?

  • TELLES0808

    Thanks!

Yes, that's what I did, but it uses only 3 steps.

I guess there must be a way to do it 'every tick' to make it seamless, but I couldn't figure out the right formula yet.

    Any suggestions, maybe?

    edit: Ah, stupid me! I figured it out, it's pretty easy actually. <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Damnit, too slow! <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I tried to recreate that one, so here it is anyways:

  • Hello there!

Currently I'm working on a Monkey Island style Point&Click Adventure.

The GFX are hand-drawn on paper and finished on the computer, the music has been done by an incredibly talented friend of mine.

The finished game will be in german, but I did an english translation just for you guys <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I tried my best, but my english isn't perfect.

I didn't translate any texts in the GFX though, so I guess you should know that

    "Nimm" means "pick up"

    "Benutze" means "use"

    "Rede" means "talk"

    "?ffne" means "open"

Plus by pressing the right mouse button you can take a closer look at things.

The game is in a very early stage, so until now it consists of a short introduction, 2 in-game screens and one little puzzle.

As soon as you have the key there's nothing more to do, just to save you some time <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I didn't optimise it for online playing yet either, so SFX will probably start delayed (no preloading yet) and loading time of the game may take a while, it's about 30 megs.

Any suggestions on how to improve the game would be GREATLY appriciated!

If you need some Punkrock as a Soundtrack just give me a shout, I'm in a Punk Band and I could send you some Instrumentals you can use.

    Scirra:

Thank you so very much for this brilliant program!

    Best ?99 ever spent!

  • This is the very first game I made using the free edition of C2, so please don't be too harsh <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle">

As the name already indicates, it's a pretty dark game, so I suggest a dim surrounding and a headset to play <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">

The game is completely in german, but you should be able to play it without having to understand the language.

The Task is to collect 4 CDs and bring them back to the starting point.

Well, now that I have a license the next game will be a little more complex <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle">
