i think your UI is too big.

your player and enemy HUD are take at least 25% of screen. you dont need to make that health bar too big since player will notice their health around the character.

the left bottom one looks like iteam placeholder and, for me, its looks too messy. if that condition of "box open", then instead making potion show around the box, make it like reverse dropdown menu( like this http://s33.postimg.org/bwc52fev3/review.jpg ) and make the thumbnail a lil bit bigger.

for the middle one, maybe thats the attack button, but why 3 ? its too big and the position is too weird, since its in the middle. usually button like attack or shoot is always place in bottom left or bottom right because is closest to player finger. maybe you can change that attack button to become more small and place it in side of screen.

    hope this will help you <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • Hi, i am still newbie game designer. i won some game design challenge before. i dont have much knowledge except for my game designing and UX/UI designer. Hope i can join your team

  • i create route like this

everytime i run, the red always choose b route to go to the blue.

i want the red to choose a route instead. Can you guys tell me how to do that ?

  • Try Construct 3

  • Yes, expressions can be a bit tricky at the beginning. Don't be scared, because you'll get the hang of them pretty fast. I'd suggest you make a simple game using just plain simple numbers for your first game (for ex.: Create object Turret on layer Game at 320;450).

i made like one level before of platformer game. it went pretty good (for me). now i have idea to create a simple turret defense game, but sometimes i dont know what to do with the code like i make 2 route for enemy to reach the castle and i make route b is more shorter than route a. i want to enemy a to choose route a, but sometimes it just went to route b. well, i just need someone who can lead me to right knowledge so i can make a progress to my game

  • hi, i am still new to construct and i really want to learn how to using it.

even after following some tutorial, i still barely understand how to make my game.

i dont know about programming, and sometimes the template give me such "weird" code for me, like :

    "Create object Turret on layer Game at (round((Touch.X - 16) / 32) * 32 + 16,round((Touch.Y - 16) / 32) * 32 + 16)"

i am so confused about that formula. my friend said its simple algebra, but i still dont get it.

i am curious about mentor in this forum, like not mentoring new user everyday, but more like weekend? and give such good direction on what things should i learn to make my game. if anyone in this forum can help me, i am really glad.

  • There are two ways of doing this.

    1. On start of layout -> Mouse|Set cursor from sprite (in this case, make sure the crosshair sprite is not larger than 64x64).

    2. Every tick -> crosshair set position to X: Mouse.X, Y: Mouse.Y (make sure you set to X and Y, not AbsoluteX and AbsoluteY)

For the first option, see here for more info: scirra.com/manual/114/mouse (under Mouse Actions).

    thanks for reply <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" />

the first option is work really well.

but the second option is weird, because i am already try that before. the crosshair actually spawn under my cursor and its WAY off from the Absolute position. its weird

  • i want to make my crosshair position on my mouse, so i make the code

Every tick >> crosshair set position to mouse. AbsoluteX, mouse.AbsoluteY

but it ended up like this

the red circle is my mouse position and the crosshair a way off from it.

    how to solve this ?

  • sorry, for late reply. Thank you very much. really help me alot.

  • Hi. i am Geki.

i already have Construct 2 for awhile, but i still not making any game.

i found this forum and i saw a lot of great games been made with Construct and it really motivated me so much.

now, i am making platformer game and i kinda know about the control and make event.

but i have problem about my health bar UI

the health bar is on top right corner. i want to make everytime my character get hit by bullet, the health bar will decrease until my health value of my character gone zero, it will dissapear all.

Can you guys show me how to do it ?

and actually i am need knowledge of Level Design too. Do you guys now where tips of level design or where i can read about Level Design ?
