    I want to check a value 9 entries back from the final value of the array.

    I tried to use

    Array.At(Array.Width-10)

    But verifying with the actual array data I feel the answer is not what I want.

    Well, I have said all that I have to say.

    I really enjoyed learning about game development with Construct 2 but as a developer wanting to make commercial games, I guess it's time to move on.

    I had a good time being apart of the community and made good friends with various devs. I wish the best for Scirra and hopefully there's something that makes me come back to subscribe to Construct 3.

    Isn't the Spritefont spacing available in Spritefont plus plugin?

    External addon, funny is that I remember that we wished it to be added then but they said nope why add tiny changes, and now lo and behold it is here for C3!

    I understand there's this thing that is 1. time. 2. interest/motivation.

    Time, there's not enough time, and interest/motivation, if you do not feel interested/motivated in on taking a work I understand it is not ideal then.

    So maybe a solution is to license the event system to other company so they can use it to make.. hmm.. what we want.

    Thank you OP for creating this thread. I agree. I love, love, love the event sheet system. But I dislike being limited by the HTML5 only output.

    Also I dislike to see many good ideas, suggestions, fixes getting shut down very quickly with dismissive replies.

    In my humble opinion I want to see alternative output other than Javascript/html5. Of course many of the stuff, plugins rely on that but I know we will get new authors for plugins that will work for the new output code be it c++. c# etc.

    I have a feeling people will be screaming "TAKE MY MONEY" by then.

  • I love colors as you know, but I agree it feels old!

    I think it needs to be "flat" so to say (solid color no shading). And there must be some logic in the choice of colors and colors should be same for same project so every time you open one particular project it should use same color for the tabs every time you open that project.

    Some kind of grouping of colors for when more than 1 project is open.

    Maybe solving by having 2 color-tabs, first color for the Project (same color whole project) and the second color for the event sheet/layout tab.

    Or I dunno. Well it needs to be changed.

    Oh yes, now I figured it out. Border around the tabs that are part of same project. So you can see it is different project and also helps on which project is active if the border is different as well.

  • We intend for the content to work like this:

    Manual - essentially a detailed description of what individual feature does (but with some overviews/other content, e.g. a summary of keyboard shortcuts)

    Tutorials - how to bring together sets of features to achieve useful results

    I don't think tutorial-type content belongs in the manual.

    Then I think you could include links to "example" tutorials from the manual for people to get more "hands-on". I have had this type in the Help back in time in Visual Basic for example and I loved them.

    Now I am not a beginner anymore, but it is a big help for me for example as I am more "visual" than just reading theory, so getting actual working example is super helpful. So maybe add links?

    Or maybe create a Wiki type (or other user-editable) format where selected people could team up with making a combined type of manual and examples.

  • I have yet to use families because I use one single sprite for all my stuff with exception for the player! ;D So I separate them by animation name.

    Sometimes it is good to streamline your events. Yeah. We know that.

    I got inspired and over the last 1-2 weeks I have streamlined my game and shrunk down the events with 145 events! Yes, 145 events deleted!

    If not for the optimization (which is not always true) it is mainly for the typo and overview thing. Having "basically repeated" code everywhere just with minor adjustments (for example to treat 4 or 8 directions, patterns etc) = higher risk to typos/accidents and worser overview. I also combined enemies behavior and object behavior and used more functions.

    It required some thinking to solve some logic, and using math, also using loops in one place. But it feels good when I solved.

  • I wonder if there can be a thread/forum for C3 Addons so we can keep progress on that and add them as they go?

  • It feels to much like a C2 2.0 So far. I know there's mention of a few upgrades. But we are testing pretty much C2 on browser.

    It is basically that now due to the locked features. That's why I am going to wait until more features has been opened to actually test new stuff. Also Addons for me.
