  • vidi,

wow, no difference from the cintiq. do you mean the 12" or the 21"? that is amazing. i'm considering the slate over the cintiq 12" because i won't be tethered to anything except a power cord, which i can deal with.

does it track your strokes well? even quick sketching strokes? what software do you use; photoshop, artrage, sketchbook? how does it perform on painting?

sorry to overwhelm you with questions, but all the reviews i've read or watched are from techs or geeks, but not necessarily artists. although i myself am all three...lol. i really would like an artist's view point on this gear.

if the ipad ever changed their software to except stylus input with smaller diameters i would be using it. but having to use fat tipped styli has been a pain that i have not striven to overcome. i've seen great work with them...i guess i'm just lazy. i really want that digital paper feel.

sorry if i'm being a nuisance, but my choice may largely be based on your response.

perchance, have you heard about wacom coming out with a new cintiq 24hd?

  • i'm sure someone will 'help' you. but i would like to suggest that what i do when i start working on game logic, is make bullet statements, or short sentences. if you can break down what you wan to do into short statements, it will almost literally tell you how to build/write the events for it.

i only mention it because, as i was reading your thread, i could see the events in each sentence you wrote.

    good luck...

  • vidi,

would that by chance be the asus eee slate ep121?

if so, how has your experience been with the wacom digitizer screen and pen. i'm considering this slate for digital art work.

  • i have a lander clone demo i did a while back that uses math for the gravity. it is fully commented out, and may help you if you like.
