  • ....or num pad to quickly place on a corner/side/middle.

Is there an alternative keys, for snap to middle, when I not have a num pad?

I'm working with construct 2 on an Asus Eee slate.

I remember in r 53, I use the arrow key, but so it not work anymore in r54

  • vidi,

would that by chance be the asus eee slate ep121?

if so, how has your experience been with the wacom digitizer screen and pen. i'm considering this slate for digital art work.

  • Yes it is the ep121.

    Also I have an cintiqu.

I do not feel any difference.

On the slate is even better, the display contrast.

  • I'll add an alternate shortcut for the next build.

  • Thank you! <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I'll add an alternate shortcut for the next build. How about Ctrl or Shift + arrows" ?

  • I was thinking just 'C' for 'center'? There's no obvious arrow to press for centering.

  • vidi,

wow, no difference from the cintiq. do you mean the 12" or the 21"? that is amazing. i'm considering the slate over the cintiq 12" because i won't be tethered to anything except a power cord, which i can deal with.

does it track your strokes well? even quick sketching strokes? what software do you use; photoshop, artrage, sketchbook? how does it perform on painting?

sorry to overwhelm you with questions, but all the reviews i've read or watched are from techs or geeks, but not necessarily artists. although i myself am all three...lol. i really would like an artist's view point on this gear.

if the ipad ever changed their software to except stylus input with smaller diameters i would be using it. but having to use fat tipped styli has been a pain that i have not striven to overcome. i've seen great work with them...i guess i'm just lazy. i really want that digital paper feel.

sorry if i'm being a nuisance, but my choice may largely be based on your response.

perchance, have you heard about wacom coming out with a new cintiq 24hd?

  • I have cintiq 12 .The slate is 12 zoll too.

I was in search for a additional mobile scetchbook similar cintiq (with direct eye contact)

...and now, I use the slate more as my desktop PC, and that very comfortable on my sofa *gg* I'm very happy !

I can only speak as an illustrator. I'm not a painter, but for me the drawing feeling is naturally.

The pen is pressure Sensitive, stroke draw is in realtime and you can erase with the back of pen. Summary, it's for me wacom like.

My most used favorite drawing tools on slate are Flash CS5, MangaStudioEx, Illuststudio, sketchbook pro and xara Designer.

    My tips If you buy:

-Be sure you have install all new driver(from asus website) .

-It is better uncheck the Finger touch option when you want to draw,

-I have buy this pen only as additional ,but I like it more as the included stylus

  • I was thinking just 'C' for 'center'?

    'C' is OK <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • vidi,

this is awesome news. especially about the turning off finger touch option. i was hoping that i could do this for drawing using my http://www.smudgeguard.com/

i use to have an axiotron mac tablet, so i know the stylus well. but the company scared me. i didn't know if they would last, so i sold the tablet.

do you know if we can use 'any' wacom stylus on the slate? if so, i'll probably be getting one of these http://wacom.com/en/Products/Cintiq/Cintiq21UX/Accessories.aspx

    i too love manga studio.

thank you for this information. i'm a happy camper.

    <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • thank you for this information.

    You're welcome <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    btw, I use a smudge guard, too.<img src="smileys/smiley14.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

as far as I know, only the wacom stylus PL-900 PEN works on slate,

Anyway, my cintiq stylus do not !

  • I was thinking just 'C' for 'center'? There's no obvious arrow to press for centering.Hmm, I totally forgot about center and corners. With arrows is possible to combine them to get corners but the center is missing then. With "C" as center I woud expect "T", "B", "R", "L" also, but I don't know about the corners then. Maybe the keyboard part around the WASD (QWE ASD ZXC)? But I think the keyboard layout can change depending on language, so I don't know...
