  • Hmm. Playing with FOV and making it 1 degree gets me close I suppose, but the tops and sides are squished and I think that's due to the camera angle anyhow. I'm really trying to make it even to make it look like a 2D top down Zelda game but with the ability to have platforming and to move the camera, so I need to stick with Orthographic I think. I am going to continue switching back and forth between Normalized and Regular for the time being I think. Thank you for the response! I hope a way to switch at runtime is implemented! I love using Regular cause it makes it easier to do things like Physics calculations on the Z-Axis. But Orthographic just looks horrible in Regular, so it is what it is for the time being I suppose.

  • Hello all! I'm making a 3D project and I'm toying around with using Orthographic projection.

I use regular scaling when building levels to make the editors Z-scale match the X and Y axes, but using regular scaling with Orthographic projection doesn't allow me to zoom the camera in by changing the canvas size and it also doesn't seem to allow me to get both the front and bottom faces to have equal pixel sizes (Top and bottom respectively in regards to looking from a top down perspective)

Using the Normalized scale however, I can get the front and top faces of my objects to look even, successfully mimicking a 2D appearance. Having to switch back and forth between Normalized and Regular in the Project Settings before testing is really annoying.

    Regular in Editor (Looks good):

Regular when Testing (Looks really bad):

Normalized in Editor (Looks horrendous and is impossible to work with):

    Normalized when Testing (Looks perfect!!!!):

I want to continue using the Normalized scale when running the project, but I would like to be able to use the Regular scale in the editor and not have to switch between them every single time I change something. Is there any way to do this, either through an event action or a script?

    Thank you!!

  • I am attempting to make a platformer with touch controls and I want my jump to have variable height. This is easy with keyboard controls, as you can just use "on key released", but not so with touch controls. Using "on any touch released", means that letting go of the left or right buttons will also stop the jump. And using on object touched and any touch released results in the same issue. Using a not touching condition would also just always have the jump shortening condition set.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Try Construct 3

  • As the title says, doing this is simply impossible. This isn’t a bug, so I don’t think I should open an issue, and it’s not so much a suggestion either, but something I feel that is missing. There is no way to reorder objects in the project bar without getting on a desktop to do so. I feel like an option in the right click/long tap menu to move objects would suffice. I don’t mean to be snarky, but I paid for this tool, and this, while not a huge deal for everyone, is pretty inconvenient for me, as I’d like to do Gamedev from my iPad. Not the end of the world, but it’d still be nice to have a substitute for the drag and drop between folders functionality on desktop. I asked about this a while ago and didn’t hear anything back. Sorry if I seem rude or pedantic, just lost with this.

Unless I’m an idiot and just don’t see a method of doing so.

    Thank you for reading!

  • Thank you again. I really like the ability to move between devices and work on projects. That is actually the main reason I chose Construct over, say, Godot. And the simplicity of course. This just kind of makes it a little, well, tough. I really like the mobile interface a ton. It's really well laid out in my opinion, and I can see myself personally getting a fair bit of stuff done with it. Not everyone's cup of tea of course, but it'll make lunch breaks more productive for me.

  • Hello! Thanks for the reply, though that is not exactly what I'm having an issue with. I'm trying to take a Sprite I have in the objects folder, and move it into a subfolder within the objects folder.

  • I've been fiddling with a little test project to get my feet wet with the engine on my PC. I moved over to my phone and cannot seem to figure out how to move items in the project bar between subfolders. I've tried tapping and dragging and double tapping and dragging. Any suggestions?
