  • Hey all, i'm trying to make a 2d shooter but are having a few problems.

I cannot make an aim feature, although i have the sprites to do it i cannot make it in Construct and any help would be appreciated.

e.g Player is facing right and holding the right mouse button would play an animation to bring the gun into an aiming position and releasing the mouse would put him in the previous animation.

Sorry if i worded this badly i'm in a bit of a hurry, thanks!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Thanks, Blacksmith

Really helps, gonna mess around with this to produce something.

    Many thanks!

  • I'm trying to prototype shadows for a game i plan to make, although i don't see how i would be able to implement shadows.

A quick search gave me results for construct classic only and this is really beginning to annoy me now;/

So, if i can, how would i make shadows in Construct 2?

  • I'm making a mining type game where a player has to go down into the depths of the earth and dig etc, and have the depths dark and the only way to see is to have a miners hat that emits light.

My initial and current idea for the lighting "system" was to have a particle emitter pinned to an image point on the players forehead, and emit small particles that mask a black overlay, effectively creating a form of "light".

I'm having trouble with the masking settings, however, an any help towards the problem is appreciated and so is any other effective alternatives.

    Thanks in advance! :)

  • Seems like it was Chromes fault.

Tried w/ Firefox and it came out perfect. Hope it's like this when published to the arcade.

  • Chrome too. Not sure if it's the browser, the sprites, my PC or Construct itself

  • Couldn't get any of the suggestions to work.

Here's a Mediafire link that i just put up, please note the game is just so i can get to grips with the mechanism of Construct for future game making.

    It's also for a friend.

    Thanks for all the replies.

  • I've been working on a game for about an hour now, and have most of the sprites I need.

All sprites fall under 64x64 and look crisp and clear before previewing in the browser localhost.

In hopes of removing this automatic smoothing I remade the game using the "retro" template, hoping the preset would have something that removes it.

Can anyone tell me what i need to do to stop this auto-smoothing?

Or is it just me/my browser? (Using Google Chrome)

    Please, help.

    Thanks in advance.
