  • Hello gamers,

I'm working on my last finished game ProtEGGtion !

Your mission is to protect eggs with your thumb (if you are on mobile) or your mouse ! It's addictive and challenging, good for killing time in the common transports.

For now the game is only available on Scirra Arcade here :

    https://www.scirra.com/arcade/strategy-games/proteggtion-5996

But because i love you very much, i'll publish it on mobile soon (at first, it was only for mobile, that's why i write in WIP forum).

If you want to keep in touch with us you can follow us on Facebook.

    https://www.facebook.com/infokub/

I publish every Sunday a news with infos about our games and some fun facts about what we are working on !

Thanks for reading and see you soon !

  • Hey iceangel ! First time i see you posting a game here ! I know you are a great forum-poster

I think that you game is a good proof that you know how Construct2 works, you master it pretty well. Now you will have to work on everything that is not directly part of the game development.

I mean polishing graphics (for now, they are ok, but we don't feel obstacles are part of the road, for example)

And improve the "game feel" because after some minutes, we master the game and can't get more fun with it.

It's not an easy way, it's long, you need to study your favorite games to see how game developers have done it (why this level is like that, why the textures are like that, why the monsters look like that, why the music here is like that, why EVERYTHING is here, what is the reason ?) and it's not sure that you'll get it for your next game.

But they are good questions to think about, for any games.

    Cia !

  • Thanks janlindso and Cryptwalker for reporting.

I tried hard to solve this problem i was the first to notice, because i got it during the development of the game.

But i didnt found it before i had to upload the game for the LD.

I hope you still got fun nevertheless ! Thanks for your comments

  • Thanks frcol and bclikesyou,

You can be proud of littlebluefish, the game artist, because it was his idea haha. Everyone love it i'm so glad !

It was 4am, we were thinking about the theme and things came like that :

grandbrinus : hey ! why not doing a game about people who are seen like monsters ? a game about friends ?

littlebluefish : yay ! great idea ! then you'll have to eat them and poop them.

I still don't know how this idea was here, stuck in his head

  • bclikesyou thanks for your comment, i did the same for you, play, rate n' comment

Thanks for stopping by, your game is really cool too !

And it's really nice to get some dev's reviews ! Thanks

  • Hello everyone !

I dont know if i'm in the good forum, i'm here for asking Ashley to add a new Action in the AJAX plugin.

I needed to use a Cross-Domain request with an Authorization on a distant website. There is no action related to this case of use.

So i'm asking if you can add this functionnality : a form with two fields (user, password) for sending request on this kind of servers.

I already tried to do this with HTTP headers without succeeding.

I think it can be useful not only for me

I can do it myself but it will not be added to standard SDK so... that's why i'm asking this.

    Thanks for reading !

  • It's an other way to learn. I think it's a good thing to practice directly in the tutorial.

Of course, the student will have to repeat all the operations by himself with his own C2.

  • Hello everyone,

I've already wrote this post on "Education" section, but I repost it here for having feedback of C2 developers.

I have made some interactive tutorials (it mean that you see the video and you can interact with it).

I want to know what do you think about them, and if you want more

You can watch them on Youtube :

    In French : http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLl25XXpayxo1MCeu9O-W1siUYqHLG0X9Q

    In English : http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLl25XXpayxo2NuYtqTqsOE93J10pL0qoC

You can play them on my website :

    In French : http://arcade.infokub.fr/tutorials/?lang=fr

    In English : http://arcade.infokub.fr/tutorials/?lang=en

And you can download these video for free and legally (Creative Commons)

I hope you will enjoy them !

PS : I'm not really confident about my English translations. So if I made mistakes, please, tell me. Thanks

  • Why do you want subtitles in English ? The video is already in English

If you want, send me your email by PM and i will give you every text you can traduct

    Thanks

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I understand your feel. But IMO it's technically impossible to do that.

The structure of Construct 2 can't allow mixed types in families.

It's hard to explain if you don't know any programming language.

When you make a family, you have to know which type this familly is, to know what actions and property you have.

But, in this case, we have Sprites, and TiledBackgrounds. Both have an action "Set Position", but it's not the same for this two objects.

For having both objects in one family, you need a supertype "Graphics" which contain Sprites and TiledBackground common possibilities. But for intuitive reasons, and because the software is made for non-programmers and need to be easy, I think that this is impossible.
