  • To clarify a little bit; I'm requesting a way to duplicate a layer in the Layer Bar, not as a function/method/action. Still a bad idea?;)

  • Thanks for your replies, I really appreciate it!

I'm currently working on a dress up game, each item need corresponding info box with a mix of sprites, text boxes, links, text input,...

That results in 24 different boxes on 24 layers, but the user will interpret it as one since they have the exact same placement and there's only one visible at any time.

So, I figured out making a template layer with background image, border,... was the best way to do it, and duplicate it 23 times to maintain the x&y-coordinates. I still think it's a good idea;)

Now I have to copy, paste and place each element on a new layer - it's both tedious and time consuming.

Unless you guys have a solution I haven't thought of?

  • Will there be a "duplicate layer" method in the future? Note: "layer" not "layout".

  • Bug: if you have two overlapping objects and click on the overlapping part the topmost object is not picked as expected. I'm using "on object clicked" and a family. If you instead use it specifically on each family member it works fine.

It looks like an old bug since I've found several posts about it in the forum.

It's the same in every broser I've tested: IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera.

Here's a capx of the problem

    pickTopmost

    Edit: solution/my bad:

I've totally missed this feature, it works adding extra condition "pick top instance".

  • I'm planning to make a Christmas calendar with 24 different games/activities, and I need a little feedback on how to solve it the best way. Is there a way to load games on demand, or will all have to be loaded on start up? There'll be a global score and reward based on your progress, so I'm depending on the games communicating with the main file. I really, really hope it doesn't involve any html frames or any workarounds to implement this feature.

    Any thoughts and help appreciated:)

  • Newbie alert!;) Ok, I'm trying to find the best way to configure a game from parameters. I've tried the Browser.QueryString, works fine, but not quite what I'm looking for. I was hoping there was a similar way to the Object / Param tags (for embedding flash files). I haven't found any traces of such feature in the manual or the forum, so this is a shot in the dark. Anyone knows?

(A global javascript variable inside a script tag in the html document would work too, but haven't found any posts about that neither.)
