  • Yes I tried that, didn't work...

    Funny_guy

Oh that's really not advanced, just turns the source sprite in many little sprites, give them RTS Behaviour and let them run at the target^^

    I'm still beginner with Construct too <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Try this cap

It uses another sprite as "collision mask", the bounce should be applied normally. <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    This is rather a work around than a solution, hope it's what you're looking for <img src="smileys/smiley12.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • Your animation tool is so cool, I really can't wait to try it out! It's more than what I could imagine is possible <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle"> ... and now I don't want to settle for anything less, you spoiled me <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I can't really imagine what these Animations would look like using your editor <img src="smileys/smiley3.gif" border="0" align="middle">

..."actions speak louder than words" or how the saying goes, I started a crowd-funding feature pledge at Fundry

This means you get money from donations once your feature is finished and accepted by the donating people. Everyone let's collect some money for an awesome feature! <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle"> <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • I made a scooping effect for sprites:

The source sprite is divided in many little canvas parts. These parts move to the mouse position. When reaching the mouse they should fade out and be destroyed. That works.

But when repeating the effect the fade out kicks in too fast!

    No idea why <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    But it looks cool already <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle">

Btw. don't change the part size global to a smaller number, it makes Construct Crash for some reason <img src="smileys/smiley3.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    Here is the Cap file

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I figured out how to use the basics of "Plasma" and made a Tutorial:

    Plasma School.cap

It shows how to use "cold" and "source" Textures with a lot examples.

    12 examples x 2 Variation each <img src="smileys/smiley29.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    Sorry no screens I'm lazy<img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • chrisbrobs

Your 2 PM's are empty, can you resend it?

    Maybe its a bug...

  • I just wrote something like this, Check it out!

  • I made a sample for a Street Fighter Style Fighting Game.<img src="smileys/smiley18.gif" border="0" align="middle"> <img src="smileys/smiley3.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    Here are Some Frames

You can throw different punches, do a jump kick, and getting beaten. There are three basic stance loops to choose from, after hit you recover smoothly to the basic animation loop.

Body, arms, legs, feet, hips are all moveable. <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    Here is the Cap file:

    Bone Fight Movement.cap

    .

    .

    .

We could turn this in a fighting game like Little Fighters2

    ...but I can't do this alone, I'm still a noob at Construct <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle">

Let each Character have 3 Attacks, a special Move and an Ultimate Move.

Objects to pick up and throw. CPU Enemies attacking in Waves.

    Online Multiplayer..... ok I'm fantasizing a bit too much <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle">

At least make a fighting game with different Characters and CPU Enemies with mass combat. We could make a Contest for Character Creation, I could help out with the GFX and the Movement, I need help for the programming (I learned other languages, I could tell you what the loops should be doing but I can't write it myself (yet) <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    So.... what do you think?

  • I made a quick tutorial how to create Sprites like this in the Image Editor: http://www.scirra.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=43332&title=simple-image-editor-tutorial

Check it out! And post your own Images :)

  • Made a quick tutorial how to do quick drawings in the image editor. (Like in my RTS Life Simulation)

    Tutorial Images in Dropbox Gallery

I'm going to update this post when I make new tutorials. What kind of Sprites do you want to make? Maybe I can make a tutorial about <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I'm average in drawing skills so nothing too complicated <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • I uploaded the wrong cap file, mixing up the names <img src="smileys/smiley26.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> it works now...

I'ts 1 a.m. sorry I guess I should get some sleep :D Construct is just too exciting right now ;)

  • A small life simulation: Animal looking for grass to eat. Predator hunting animals. Finally some Scavenger eating the dead animal.

Grass respawn when eaten, Animals respawn when eaten by Scavenger.

All GFX are selfmade with Construct Image Editor and free to use as you like :D

    The Cap file:

    Mini Life.cap

    (filehoster changed to dropbox)

  • The Chainman!!!!!!

I'm working on an Action RPG in Rayman Style with a lot Bone Movement and the Chris Hackmann's Orbiter Behavoir as main battle element ->Chain^^

    My first steps: Sample

    I tried something with Blitz Basic3D but I suck at math <img src="smileys/smiley11.gif" border="0" align="middle">

That's why I love Construct sooo much

These should be some of the bad guys<img src="smileys/smiley3.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    <img src="http://i52.tinypic.com/bhm8me.png" border="0">

I used the Construct Image Editor, only standard Color and scaled the parts down, kind of retro-Pixel Style :D

  • A new star is teaching you how to use Construct Classic:

    <img src="smileys/smiley10.gif" border="0" align="middle"> Charly Chainman <img src="smileys/smiley10.gif" border="0" align="middle">

This sample shows how 'BoneMovement' can be combined with '8Direction' for a very simple Rayman style animation :D

All GFX made with Construct Image editor, I like the style

    <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle">, it turned out very well (Not the hair I'm afraid <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle"> )

New Version with chain strike animation. Use left mouse to idle movement ;)

    <a href="" rel="nofollow">

The Chainman with strike(filehoster is dropbox now)

  • Imagine you want to mix three different Terrains : Water, Sand and Grass. Using the 'Tiled Background' how do you manage to apply scattered shapes?

Here is a screene what it could look like:

    Here's the cap:

    Sample.cap

The problem is: There is no real Layer Mask function that works <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I tried to work around the problem with additive Layer Effects, I'm looking for a simple white-to-black alpha mask changing the Opacity of the Layer below.

    White - Grey - Black

    100% - 50% - 0% Opacity. You get the idea ;)

So when someone tells me how this can be done or if someone writes a plugin I'm going to make some tutorials about landscape creation. Deal? :D
