  • You simply have to work on the common part of the biggest and smallest devices screen ratio. If you work in so-called "safeZone" then you don't need separate projects. Fronne covered that in this tutorial: https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/1126/multiple-screen-sizing-for-all-mobile-devices/page-1

There's another small tut I wrote long time ago with a downloadable .capx attached. If you put all action in the -yellow- Safe Zone, everything inside it will be visible on all devices, no matter what Aspect Ratio. The Safe Zone has a 9:16 Aspect Ratio (Portrait Mode), most recent phones have this Aspect Ratio. The Window Size has a 3:4 Aspect Ratio, all other Aspect Ratio's are somewhere in the middle. On every device you see the whole Safe Zone, with more of the Window Size depending on the actual Aspect Ratio...

    Good Luck!

  • Well done!

  • We've just put our new database server online and things seem to be running much faster now.

I saw the message during the transfer, I went to the beach for a couple of hours, came back and noticed the difference immediately...

It's fast as lightning, the name of your new DB server must be Usain Bolt...

  • I purchased the C2 Data Editor yesterday and I am very pleased with it. I think it's an absolute MUST HAVE for eh, well lets say eh everybody...

You can generate C2 code and JSON strings on the fly, making it very easy to integrate (large blocks of) data into C2...

There are also search, edit and misc. functions provided wich you can use in your own projects...

I am very impressed with the current version of the program, I'm sure it will be a great success...

I will submit a five star review at Scirra's Store for sure...

    Well done gg!!!

  • Hi Everybody,

I just noticed the download counter is almost set to 1,5 MILLION -1499711 at the moment of writing...

A perfect time to congratulate the crew for reaching another milestone...

Thanks a lot for Construct 2 and I want to send my GONGRATULATIONS to the TEAM, well done SCIRRA...

  • Are you still experiencing issues? If so, you can access a cached copy of the Scirra tutorials and the online manual.

No, everything works fine since yesterday again. Thanks for the webcache links, didn't knew this!

  • [quote:ivcmf7he]I know it is not a solution, but still it could save you some time, but didi you tried the torrent alternative download?

Yes, same problem with the torrent link, the manual was unreachable, the store was down...

Scirra is loosing potential costumors and income if this problem remains...

  • I noticed most of the site was down for a long time when r179 was released, I remember because I could not download it for a few hours and the site was very slow... The same problem, -but much worse- appeared yesterday when r180 was availlable for download. The site was unreachable most of the day, sometimes one or two pages where loaded but just for a few minutes. Downloading r180 took me about 20 minutes after trying for hours...

I can see a pattern here...

  • I just received an e-mail from Packt Publishing about a new book about Construct 2. The book is named Construct 2 Game Development by Example. There are two versions, a printed one and and an eBook, both for sale at Packt Publishing. The author of the book is John Bura, he's the man resposible for me using Construct 2. He wrote an article named Construct 2 vs GameMaker vs GameSalad vs Stencyl. I will buy the eBook for sure...

    Price Print + eBook: €32.99

    Price eBook: €12.00

    Enjoy,

  • Hi there All,

We just published Slappy Feet on Scirra...

Scirra's server is NOT responding to the mouse events all the time, the game is NOT good playable without this pretty important aspect of the game. You can play the game also at: slappyfeet.com

Slappy Feet is a tribute to the dedicated Karateka's from all over the world, Budoschool Ton Neuhaus and my daughter Jennifer in special who earned her Black Belt in 2012 and became Dutch Champion Kumite in 2013...

The game is inspired by Flappy Bird (although completely different) and will be published to the App Stores as soon as the testing period is complete. There will be a free mobile version with some ads (as soon as I'm satisfied with the result) and a paid version withouth the ads for let's say eh, $ 0,99 or so...

Slappy feet is also published on slappyfeet.com and Budoschool Ton Neuhaus (scroll to the bottom)...

    Cheers,

    Franco Palmieri
