I tell you, most of those complainers and moaners want it all for free.

    What utter rubbish.

I am a huge fan of C2 (even though I don't use the forums much) and I will not pay RENTAL for software, but no.. of course I don't want it for free, c'mon, how can you think such a silly thing.

I do not want it for free and would never expect to get it free, I do want a one time single price though. I do not and will not rent software. if the one time price was too high for me right now, I'd just save my money and get it as soon as I could afford it. be that in days, weeks or even months from now. But a sub, no. it's against my principles to pay a subscription and I would rather simply move to other software.

Just don't say "non-subbers" want it free, that is an utter lie.

as much as I enjoy Construct 2, I will not be moving to Construct 3, I am totally and utterly against "subscription software" in principle, regardless of the price. I want to pay once and own my software, not rent it.

After checking the competition for my level of skill (ie: low, haha) I've decided to move to Fusion 2.5 and what is soon going to be Fusion 3, as that is one price and no crazy subscription.

I hate to dump Construct but I simply cannot accept this crazy notion of subscription only and quite frankly I hope they get a huge drop off in users and have to reconsider their options.

Should Ashley & co suddenly contract a bout of "common sense" and change C3 to a one off price, there is a good chance I will return and buy it. But a subscription? no.. not at any price.

Not only are Scirra trying to shaft loyal customers by switching to a rip off subscription service, they are also getting the mods to delete posts if anyone complains.

    Bad practice man.. really shoddy.

I hope people go buy Fusion 3 and GMS2 and let C3 sink.. until the devs wake the hell up and give us a one time price to buy the software.

  • The grammar fail in the thread title made my head explode.

I kind of assumed they were going to implement a C2 style event sheet in Fusion 3 because it's the next logical step up, but was disappointed after seeing a recent dev shot that it appears to still have the same tired old spreadsheet editor. It would be a big step back returning to that now.

I've tried both C2 and F2.5, both are very good and have good and bad things going for them. Without a doubt C2's event sheet is way ahead of F2.5's. however F2.5 can export native windows code and I'm reading more and more how people like the idea of C2 but being forced to use a wrapper just puts them off using it.

Hopefully C3 will amend this lacking issue.

  • Thanks, I will try the free version and save my money up to buy.

  • Good day friends!

I am interested in game design as a hobby (not for profit) and I bought gamemaker studio in a humble bundle sale last year and well, its excellent software but I really can't get on with it to be quite honest.

I stumbled upon Construct 2 and having spent the last two days reading up on it and watching videos about it, this seems to be just what I'm really seeking! powerful yet friendly and easy to learn. superb!

now for my question, I know its not a nice thing to ask and I am sorry for asking but do you plan on having a sale anytime in the future? I am not saying for one minute that your software isn't worth the price, not at all. but I'm on a very low income and disabled so money is very tight. a sale would be really really nice if thats at all possible?

if there's not one coming up, that is okay. I will just save my money and buy it in a couple of months, but it was worth asking.

Thank you for reading this and I hope to be posting lots of "how do I do this" questions once I buy it. haha
