  • Thanks a lot Kyatric! Your solution worked perfectly.

    Love this helpful community.

  • I joined the capx to this message.

The disabled "move to position(200,200)" works, that's why I don't understand why the pin doesn't.

    Thanks again for your help.

  • Thanks for your help, unfortunately it doesn't work for me.

I can get if the right stick is moving or not (I tested with a boolean and it works).

I write that when the right stick is moving, then the crosshair position is the right stick one (it works).

I then create another event where I write that when it is not moving, it should be pinned to the player. And it doesn't work.

I will upload my capx this evening.

  • Yes, add the player movement to the crosshair so it can move along with the player. That's basically what I'm asking: how to do it. :p

  • Hello,

I am making a top-down shooter, played with a gamepad. I currently move with the left stick and move the crosshair with the right stick.

What I want to do now is to move the crosshair with the player when I don't move the right stick. It's a common feature in that kind of game. You can see what I mean in this Hotline Miami for PS Vita video :

How can I do that? Is it possible to get the variation of the player's position instead of its position?

I can't upload a capx right now as I'm at work but I can do it tonight if that helps.

    Thanks !

  • Stranded (and alone)

Stranded is a little prototype made for a game jam. You are the last member of a the UNS crew, stranded on a small planet with a broken ship.

It's more of a little experiment!

    Play it here : http://floriandcp.itch.io/stranded

    Hope you like it!

  • Thanks!

Yeah I thought it would be cool to put some people to avoid.. we'll see

  • Hi!

Last week, Friday night, I decided to try Construct 2 for the first time. I actually spent 1 hour or so, and was amazed by the potential of Construct 2.

Anyway : here is Miami Waves : it is a little interactive thingy, not really a game, when you can drive with your arrow keys or just sit back and listen to the music. It's more of an atmospheric interactive thing just to mess around with the engine. It was initially done for the Flying toasters with jam game jam, in which the point was to create an interactive animation that you could run without actually playing, like a screensaver.

I want to make a full game in that "new retro wave" or "synthwave" style. One day maybe!

  • Hi!

My name is Flo and I'm a 2D artist and game dev. I'm currently finishing my studies and working as a 2D artist in the gaming industry.

I like to create small stuff in my spare time, and I used to work with Game Maker or Unity 3D. Quite frankly, I thought Construct 2 was limited. Boy, was I wrong!

Aurelien Regard, the guy behind the awesome game The Next Penelope, convinced me to try the engine. The layers, the effects, and overall simplicity makes the engine super pleasant to use. I didn't go very far for now but I can see all the possibilities. The ability to go beyond events and behaviors to be able to script is also an important feature in an engine.

Anyway, Construct 2 convinced me, the licence price is really fair so I will get mine right now!

I did this small interactive thingy with the free version in no time, when a small jam was about to finish : <edit : can't post link yet apparently, I will edit when I can>. I hope to spend a lot of time here, and to have a lot of cool stuff to show you!

    See you!
