  • Hey Constructors;

I've got a a bullet with speed of 2400 pps and when it's hitting the target sometimes it does what it's supposed to do, and sometimes it's just skipping the target! I tried to boost up the Collision Polygon of the target and bullet but still the same! Any idea around how to solve it?

    Thanks a lot.

  • yes sure even I don't have "Reset Global Variables" event in the whole layout!

  • LittleStain Thanks for your feedback,I tried every possible way with the Time Scale to pause and resume the layout but nothing! Anyway I'll give your method a shot.

  • Is there any possible way to pause the whole layout and get back to it?!

    Let me make myself clear here;

I've got a Time Global Variable in Layout 01 (The Game Level) and when I'm switching to Layout 02 (Main Menu) and then I'm trying to get back to layout 01 it's restarting the time variable and I want it to do a resume after pausing!

    Thank you.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Thank you all for your feedbacks,God bless C2 and it's community.

  • This is happening because browsers put some limitations on pages run from a disk. You need to upload your exported project to a server in order to make it work.

Thank you for this but I think there must be a more handy way around.

  • yeah everything is fine,C2 and Java but after I hit the Export Project button and I want to check the result in my browser,I get a black background!! Any way around?

    Thank you a lot.

  • yonda thanks a lot for the capx file.

I like the trail fx but when I boosted up the bullet speed it's become into pieces, showing the fact that it's just a rectangle sprite.

I actually want to achieve your effect but with sequential trial that follows the bullet no matter where it goes.

I would use other game engines to make 3D but they simply don't have this user friendly event sheet programing and I suck at learning how to code in those. But one thing that could be interesting for construct to do is generate the actual code sheet of the event sheet to just view how it actually looks for educational reasons. Perhaps that could help none coders learn some basics about coding that can be then used in code necessary engines like the 3D ones?

Yeah it's really a good idea and it will help a lot in the learning process.

  • Joskin OlivierC thanks a lot I'll give it a try.

  • So Constructers what is the best way to do these,I tried but they are not working the way I want:

1- I want the character to wait like 2 seconds before it's able to shoot again.

2- is there any way around to make yor bullet draw a line behind it wherever it goes before it hits the target and fades away? Like a path tracing more or less.

Kyatric wizaerd I totally agree with you about the benefits of having a background in coding.

I hope in the future C2 will be the main pipline for the indie game developers.

Kyatric i respect you of your help and your knoweledge.you help us a lot with your work (tutorials,posts,examples...) but i dont say that C2 is ONLY a tool for non coders?where you read that? I said that most of us bought c2 cause is for non coders

Ashley back in 2011 replied to another post: "Obviously if you know how to program you're going to criticise the event system. Remember we're targeting at non-coders." !!NON CODERS!!

this is the big advantage of C2. game engine built for non-coders.

i like to be realistic and also tell the truth even if its bitter.if i knew programming i will not even make this conversation.i'll be somewhere else. Its not bad if we continue posting to the thread after ashley answered in the first page.sometimes when you want something so bad its logic to keep asking even if you know that its difficult to change a situation.but if you continue asking maybe your pressure will take place. If you guys think that its a waste of time when we talking about our needs ok really it makes me sad.Maybe im in the wrong place from the start.

everytime we ask for native applications: answer:if you have issues contact with ludei

everytime we ask for 3d answer(not from scirra this time):its a 2d engine its difficult, it will kill 2d engine,we dont care about 3d, blah blah blah...

Kickstarter is here take the decision and we will support you. if you dont get the goal, ok ill never mention 3d again in the forum.but i doubt about that it will kick(as)starter the game development.

fawdda you got all of my support my friend but i dont see 3d in c2 for 2 years from now...

spy84 you know what you remind of Guns N' Roses song, it's called Patience. Thank you a lot for your clear opinion my friend.

: For animations check out Spriter before requiring 3D, it might be more interesting for your needs in the end.

Also for those thinking C2 is only a tool for non-programmers, I have to disagree.

I knew how to code before discovering CC/C2 and using both even allowed me to go further on that road. I've always considered having this background helped me getting "faster" into Construct.

And I've always considered that C2 helps on getting the game programming's logic.

And to finish on the topic of 3D, Ashley already answered in page 1 and that's all what is needed to be considered for now.

Kyatric yeah I know Spriter it's just a 2D animation tool! and knowing how to code doesn't mean we should do the same!

Ashley said "We probably won't support this until WebGL is ubiquitous" but the good news that WebGL is ubiquitous enough to adopt it in C2!

im in the same situation my friend side scrolling shooter>blender>png>illusion of 3d

+ (1+n^(n+1)) for the kickstarter idea..

Thank you a lot for your support.
