  • erm i just got answered my question about something similar

if you created your map in a way where you have your bases that cannot be walked past in 1 layer and an extra layer for the pillars and such, you can have a constant sprite overlap your character and do a source out on the pillar layer so the circle overlapping your character would "erase" the pillars temporarily

i personally think its a good idea to separate your maps also since you can create map interactivity

  • this effect is amazing, thanks alot

  • so where i click will stay revealed, and the rest will be darkened/black whichever is more doable.

and i haven't decided whether it will be circular or square, so it really depends how we go about this.

  • basically im trying to recreate this effect

doesn't need to have all that fancy distortioning, but most importantly it needs to be "placed" where your mouse is clicked

i tried vignette but have no idea if i can place it away from the centre

  • the simplest fix is to click on the OTHER value and press enter

eg. you wanna change width, you type the number in width, click height, and press enter while in height. vice versa.

if you wanna change both, just type a value in width, click the height, type in height, click width and press enter.

note if my ribbon isn't hidden it doesn't work no matter what i click
