  • So, I'm having trouble with figuring out how to control which instance is colliding with which. The Object is a Sprite (Enemies) with Physics behavior and they are flying around the screen and the Enemies have 2 bools.

The first bool checks if the Enemy was touched (using touch input) and the second bool checks if the Enemy has been launched. The mechanic that I managed to get with it is that I have to touch the Enemy and swipe to launch it to other Enemies. When the Enemy is launched, then he should collide with other enemies, and the enemies he collided with will be launched somewhere and they too should be able to collide. What I'm having problems with is how to disable collision between enemies who are just flying and have not been launched.

  • Hello, I've been trying to make a flying game with physics and I'm having trouble with it. For now I'm using Y Velocity depending on the angle of the sprite and the "Speed" (Global Variable) it has. The sprite itself isn't moving, the background is, except going up and down. The problem with Y Velocity is that it simply doesn't look good nor natural, as a real plane. I've tried finding a solution on forums but it seems nobody has ever tried making a flying game in Construct 2 with semi-realistic physics.

So here I am, asking for help because I really don't know what else to use to create these flight physics.

An example of what I'm trying to do:

EDIT2: I added an earlier capix with which I was kind of satisfied. I tried using other physics actions but it simply doesn't look good and I'm really out of ideas.

  • Hello, I'm having a bit of trouble in trying to make plane physics work. To make it short, I'm trying to make something similar to Learn To Fly (With the kite) or Paperplane, when the plane faces downwards he gains speed but falls down and when he faces upwards he slows down but goes up. I really can't figure it out and I really need help with it.

  • About us:

We are a newly founded indie game development team from Zagreb, Croatia. The team is made of 6 young members, all very passionate about making video games. Each and every member of the team is a gamer, and while we all may have different tastes in which video games we like, we know why we love them and what makes them special to us. That's why we hope to make games that will have the same effect on other players as they did to us. Making it big in the video game industry is also our dream and we are working very hard to make that dream come true, starting with our first game, Elders: No Teeth No Problems.

Our goal as game developers is to create high quality games, games with gripping stories which many people will enjoy and hopefully, love playing. Getting you immersed in the worlds we create, evoke feelings of happiness, sadness or even anger, getting you to care for the characters we make and remembering them years after you finished the game, that is our true dream. But most importantly, we want you to have fun while doing so.

    The game:

Elders: No Teeth No Problems is a 2D Tower Defense game with action elements, the engine its being worked on is Construct 2. Its still currently under development so I cant really give too much information about it yet but we will keep this post updated and inform you about our first game.

Sadly I cannot post links yet, so once I am able to do so, you can be sure that I will do it immediately. So the only way to see anything about our game is to see it on our Facebook page whose link you can find in my account. Again, I'm very sorry for this.

  • Yes I did, and everything was up to date. I really don't know what else to do.

  • Nothing? I just got the latest update and the tab is still black.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • But it is weird. On other PC's I tried the latest version of construct 2 worked perfectly well, so did mine, albeit with an older version. It was the 1.5.4 version that gave me this problem. Also, I checked every driver if it was up to date, and it is. I hoped that the 1.5.5 version would hopefully fix this, but it didn't. I haven't tried reverting back to older versions, such as 1.4.7. I hope it works, though I would really like to work on 1.5.5.

EDIT: Reverting back to 1.4.7 seems to work. However, this isn't really a solution I'm happy with. There must be a reason why this black tab is showing on newer updates and there must be a way to solve it.

  • I also have the same problem. I thought it was the update, but when I reverted back to 1.5.2 the problem didn't disappear.
