  • Thank you mineet! Could you manage the demo? :P

This looks awesome! The artstyle reminds me on Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. I already played your demo.

  • Good job. Very good overall package! ;)

I've been trying to develop a game that could be a beautiful version of the "Impossible Game"...maybe. :P I thought it is very easy to create such a game. But the motivation was not enough, since it was not my genre.

That is why I am now working on an atmospheric adventure. I love games with storys and feelings. I do not know if I can put it the way I want but I'll try. ;)

Here you can test a small demo of "self runner" version of Egon. It is not very optimized because it was only a "half-hearted" project, but maybe you have fun for a while. ;)

    Egon Demo old:

  • Okay I did it.

If anyone is interested, i think it was my slow upload plus the early timeout of the server. I had to reduce the demo to 4mb then the upload worked.

  • Any ideas? Is my upload to slow? The size of the demo is 9 mb.

  • Hello guys,

I already try the second day to upload a demo. Unfortunately without success. It is very strange because I can not really see the error message:

If I copy the red error message I get more informations:

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    Request timed out.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out.

    Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

    Stack Trace:

    [HttpException (0x80004005): Request timed out.]

I have tried it on multiple pcs, with the same result.

Yesterday I asked in another thread but no one has replied. It is not my intention to spam.

If you could tell me that it is a problem with the server I could stop to keep trying. Thanks :)

Thank you! That really motivates me a lot! ;)

I will post new stuff very soon.

  • Hey guys,

I already try all day to upload a demo. I have found other threads on this topic, but in my error code is something different.

here is the whole error code:

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    Request timed out.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out.

    Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

    Stack Trace:

    [HttpException (0x80004005): Request timed out.]

Is this my fault or is there any problem with the server? Thanks.

  • I started about half a year ago with this project. I sometimes worked through a week and then again I did nothing for a month. This is typical for me because I always exaggerating until I have no more desire.

Anyway, I missed the idea. (Still dont really found :P) So I just started to design a "Super Mario like" game.

Maybe this is interesting for you. Some old stuff:

  • Hello people,

I have just decided to start a devlog for my Construct 2 game too. The name of my game is Egon and I hope it will be an atmospheric platformer in the future. Games like Coma or Limbo inspired me a lot. I have rarely seen such an atmosphere in 2D games. However, I will try not to copy. Egon should bring his own feelings with it. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

So I will post here from time to time updates and designs.

The current status is as follows:
