  • hahaha. Well, the theme word for this month on the One Game a Month site is "Portcullis" and they are offering this image as inspiration:

We could either go with that or I would be more than willing to come up with something else if people want something original.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I eventually decided that the work I was putting into this wasn't really worth it. I kept the bullets deflecting as they were and it's still pretty fun. It actually created a new strategy in the game where you could set up some stationary discs to defend your base.

  • Here is what I am facing. I have a family of objects named "Discs". I want the discs to all have physics and collide and bounce off each other, except when a red disc and a blue disc collide. Then I want the one that is spinning faster to destroy the other one and continue through.

    Like this:

Is there a way to detect a collision and prevent the resulting rebound?

  • I like that there is a lot of competition in this field right now. Personally I think the NVidia one is ugly as hell, but it should have decent power to back it up.

I'm excited to see all these new devices hitting the market.

  • I have decided that I am going to do the One Game a Month challenge. I am tired of having a zillion prototypes and no finished games.

Mostly I'm doing it for the experience, but I'm also doing it to get a feel of what genres I like to build in.

Anyone else doing the challenge? You can see more details about it here: One Game a Month

p.s. The first game I am doing is the one in my forum signature. I want that one to be in a state I consider "finished" by the end of the month.

  • The competition looks good. I think I might throw my hat in if I can get enough time to finish my current game. I'll try setting up Fatal Parsec today as a Pokki app in development and see how it works.

  • This is awesome. There are so many updates I want to make to my game.

  • Great! I can't wait for this!

  • Oh man! I have had this happen a couple times in testing and thought it was something I was doing! Thank you so much for putting this test together. I will submit the bug!

  • Wow! I love the logo. I just tried a quick play of the game and it seems really good. I am going to play a bit more later on my lunch break.

  • I think as Construct 2's user base grows there should probably be a dedicated space for artists looking for devs, devs looking for artists, team-ups and collaborations.

I know a lot of game creation tools do this sort of thing and a lot of good games can come out of it.

  • That Flash one is pretty cool. (Especially since I have been a Flash dev for so long.) Still, I am loving Construct lately so I think I'll stick with it for a bit longer. ;)

  • I agree. Avoid it at all costs. I think I have a megaman-like character I created quite some time ago. If you want you can use that for free. =)

  • I like the attack animation, it looks really good. I think it could stand to be sped up a little, though. I agree that WASD is the way to go. It was the first thing I learned how to do after getting sprites into my game. I just couldn't test using only the arrow keys.

  • Actually if you leave the mouse over the stars for a second it shows you the exact rating and how many people voted.

I found that just after the post. Still, it would be useful to know if your rating of 3 was because everyone said it was completely average game, or half the people thought it was awesome and the other half hated it.
