  • Gamemaker pros:

    Windows games runs natively when minimized..... that allows you to recreate some cool Idle games such as Soda Dungeon where the game plays by itself.

    GML == You have more logical operators for making Iffs such as && etc...(Iffs in C3 are usually messy unless I am doing something wrong...)

    You can use Gamemaker on Steam.

    You dont need to use resource hacker and greenworks for achievments...

    This is natively done on Gamemaker...

    Gamemaker cons:

    You cant test layouts.... You must run the whole game....(Breaker)

    Poor font support (We cant use custom fonts like we can in C3)

    Poor text input (You must code every text input using draw_text())

    Gamemaker is heavier then C3.

    C3 pros:

    I must be honest C3 looks like it has way more features then GMS2.

    C3 is muuuuuch faster!(Why reinvent the wheel?)

    Veredict!

    C3 design pleases me the most!(I like GMS2 tough and a lot!)

    It really depends on what you consider primordial...

    I think GMS2 is better for making IDLE-GAMES since it can run games on Background.

    C3 is the best engine in my opion tough GMS2 7/10 C3 8/10

    I feel like both engines should learn about its limitations! And being supper honest I feel like C3 is much more maintained and better supported!

    Coding does indeed make you look more professional but why would you code if you dont need to?

    I am not using addons on my games...

  • Use "Browser Invoke Download" action if it's a browser game, or "NWJS Write File" in NWJS export.

    Sorry... but where do I find this option on export mode in "NWJS Write File"?

    But I was wondering if there is a way to save the game into a file so people can send me theyr saves?

  • Hey guys is there any specific reason to use GMS2 instead of C3??

    I heard GMS2 has better performance... But the more I search and dive into it.

    The more I realize that there is basically no reason to use GMS2 instead of Construct 3 unless you want to learn Unity in the future....

    Here is my experience:

    GMS2 Negatives:

    -Has no easy way of inputting text on screen.

    -Custom Fonts sucks ass... they dont even look good on screen.

    -Way less features apparently.

    GMS2 Pros:

    -GML GML is super awesome coding your game directly allows you to work less...and to do more...

    Construct 3 Negatives:

    - Cant think of any...

    Can anyone point out some comparissons as now of 2021?

  • Ok I know this can "Kind" of be done using date behaviour and checking how much time it passed when it was offline.....

    Cant we just have on project properties the ability to enable our games to run on the background on widows users?

  • Hello guys I am the dev of Greed Knights and Knights and Dungeons both made on Construct they did hits quite some popularity over 100 reviews... I am just here to say hi and ask you guys some questions regarding the future of Construct 3.

    I will be begin by saying I love this engine.... I really do! Its my favorite! All my games were made on it. For me the engine was perfect and then when they added the Date begavior dude I almost cried of so much happiness.

    Anyways quite recently tough I was wondering myself on questions to why people use GMS2 if GMS2 has way too poor GUI support while Construct 3 support for both fonts and GUI is about Perfect****

    I was wondering myself why people choose other engines and I came to the conclusion that most people choose Gamemaker because it has better performance since it exports to native code???

    I wont and cant lie tough Unity does indeed seems like a superior engine tough but its just too hard to learn.... Not beacuse of coding really but beacuse of amount of features that can make you get lost....

    I was watching some Godot tutorials tough and it looks really good.

    Anyways I was thinking to myself tough that if by any chance a couple of things happens this engine could become the number 1 world engine in seconds. I could be wrong tough.

    1. If Construct 3 adds native support and we are able to create executables.

    2. I know Construct doesnt want to create downloadable produscts because of hacks but I would begin by saying that the current login module is just perfect it could prevent a lot of shit going on.

    My suggestions: Create a good downloadable version that requires authentication. I dont think anyone would mind.

    3. If this ever comes on Steam.... Again!! I know Construct 2 was on steam in the past and maybe Construct 3 could make its way there? I mean GMS2 is on steam but you need to authenticate everytime....

    Construct 3 could probably do the same??

    Anyways guys I am just trying to help , I love this engine and I want it to triumph! yupeeee! =D
