  • Sorry Vhael. I'm having trouble with the code. When you have a minute can you tell me how I use the code you povided. For example, what does "( actualX or Y to new X or Y)" refer to...the layout? Does "Scroll x..." also refer to the layout?

So far I have these conditions:

Mouse: On left button clicked on sprite

System: For "" from scrollx to scrollx + 1000

    ...with this action:

    Set scroll X to scrollx * dt * 1

...but its not doing anything. I'm a noob so excuse me for my ignorance. Still reading and learning.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Thanks for the reply.

When you say a sector of the screen do you mean like making my main screen double the width and putting the "settings" screen on the second half and just scroll it in using the code you provided?

  • Is there a way to make a screen slide into the main view?

Basically, I'm trying to have the user select a settings screen and want that to slide in over the main screen. I created a separate layout for this settings screen and the only way to make it appear is the "Go to layout" action. This makes the screen appear instantaneously however I'm looking for an effect that slides from the left edge.

Any ideas or examples on how I can achieve this?

    Thanks

  • Hey Ashley, I figured out what the problem was and fixed it.

    You're right...next time I'll add the .capx.

Thanks for replying just the same...much appreciated.

  • Just starting out and want to learn as much by myself as possible, so looking for direction.

I have a row of sprites (balls numbered 1 to 18) set up at the bottom of my screen. I want to use drag and drop to move it to another area, which works fine. However, I want to leave a copy of the original ball in its original position. I want this because each sprite can be used multiple times.

I thought I'd have to use spawn but read elsewhere here that CreateObject may be better. Here's the code I have:

    System: currentlyDragging=0

Mouse: Cursor is over sk1: sk1-set beingDragged to True

    sk1: Is beingDragged: System-Create object sk1 on layer 0 at (40,400)

I'm sure I have the right layer (I only have 1), but the new sprite is never created. Is the code inserted at the wrong point perhaps?

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help.

  • I plan on using the app on my BlackBerry Playbook tablet. I don't plan on offering this to the public as I'm using it as a learning experience (maybe when I get better lol). So I will be installing it only on my device for now.

EDIT: I've done some additional reading and as I understand it, I have to upload my project to a website and then download the executable app. Is this correct? When I export a project it creates a whole bunch of files. I don't think this is what I'm installing on my Playbook.

  • Hi...I'm new here and have a general question about developing an app with C2.

Will the final app be in one file which I can install on a touchpad? Does it run in my browser?

I plan on starting out by writing a simple calculator-style app which I want to use on a Playbook touchpad.

To be honest, I've read a lot of the tutorials and I'm still having trouble doing the simplest of things. I found a tutorial on a calculator app but the code wasn't available for me to study it. (It is located on another website which requires you to register.)

I'm trying to learn text entry using buttons for numbers (like in a calculator) and drag and drop behavior.

    Thanks in advance.
