  • Well then, if its so great and cutting edge, i can't wait to see some multiplayer games actually being released.

    For now, all i see is people can't connect to each other properly. I think this multiplayer plugin was implemented way to early. I dont care how cutting edge it is, or how advanced if its not working in general for most users/players.

    I understand your concern. It is a valid issue, especially when about to embark on a large scale project. I know of 4 big games that have moved from c2 to unity based on justifiable concerns.

    But, we still develop based on the future promise of what is going to be possible or hold off till it is.

    Think star wars starting 3, 4, 5 because he didn't have tech to do 1, 2, 3

    Okay, lame example, but there are thousands of cases.

  • I haven't used this feature since we were having those caching issues during preview.

    If I recall, ashley disabled cache via preview(downloads a new version every time), I don't know if this applies, or if he has since re-instated it.

    And as far as live:

  • I really doubt that, since most can't make it work. For some reason people can't connect to each other.

    Scirra says it might because of firewall / ports or NAT setup. But i don't get the idea then... People should never have to open ports and so on to play online browser games.

    Webtrc is still in its early stages and has a fair amount of bugs. The non connection can be a number of things, I must add most not related to scirra. The fact that we have access and are able to use this cutting edge stuff shows how far ahead scirra/construct2 are ahead of the competition.

    Sure it isn't full proof currently, but ashley has repeatedly said over and over that this is an advanced feature and not for the faint of heart.

    As with all new things... give it some time to iron out - Then this is going to rock.

  • rekjl, lol, sorry guess that was confusing. Currently you can access gamesalad, gamemaker etc because they run on mac. You can install and run mac software and use their preinstalled software. They have the software, you bring the license.

    Construct2 doesn't run on mac

    Construct3 apparently will be able to run on mac, Linux etc ... was just saying would be nice to see construct 3 listed in their list of software.

    , you can, however it isn't a simple process. When you dealing with IOS emulators like vmware, you are looking for frustration. But Absolutely you can, but I would go with using a real mac computer, either buying one (not viable for me as my computer beats any mac hands down) or rent one, or rent one over a cloud.

  • rekjl, I'm currently in dev on some games and haven't used macincloud recently. But it did the job perfectly. Best part is they have all the necessary software available. I've let my subscription lapse, but grab the hourly one. $1 and just jump in and have a look. Everything is right there.

    lolva, absolutely you can do it from windows pc. But macincloud is so much easier. I just rent a couple hours. And they even assist you.

    You will get very little response as hardly anyone talks/understands Russian.

    There is nothing available for VKontakte, and you will probably have to create a paid job for this.

    You could do it yourself but I fear it may be beyond your skill set else you wouldn't be asking.

    But the best is to email them directly which I see you have done. They should be waking up in about an hour so expect a response during the course of today.

    And if you sent email over weekend. Its "weekend" Scirra works Mon-Fri, 9 to 5.

    I'm sorry to hear your having problems with the connectivity. It's working fine for me but I have heard some people having issues due to either restrictive network configurations or with the isps themselves. Feel free to contact me by email, Id'e be happy to help you troubleshoot. Hopefully given a bit of time it will sort itself out.

    Will try to get to the AI in the not too distant future.

    It is working for me too

    The singnalling server was down periodically recently due to updates.

    Also, AI will be an excellent addition

  • I really think that CocoonJS is the future for mobile gaming with Construct 2.

    Ironically it was only when scirra depreciated them that they suddenly started paying attention. Scirra wasn't the only one that dropped them. CocoonJS really isn't the future, (then), but I take my "hate" off temporarily and give them a slow clap, as they have definitely stepped up their game. They still have some ways to go in proving themselves, but fingers crossed, lets hope they continue towards what we all hoped they would be.
