  • Ah at last a farmville type game on Construct2.Looks impressive.

  • The double jump is easy to do,When the character is halfway in the air then yo press the jump button again.Timing is crucial.

  • [quote:3r01fyfp]Gamemaker is like a fun learning toy, that you can use to make some basic and limited games. Construct is a serious tool, that's even more fun than gamemaker.

Have you ever downloaded game maker's games?.They don't look basic or play basic at all.Yes CS is powerful and way more advanced than GM ,But both are equally as good in thier own ways.Remember were "indie gamers" and no matter what app is used to create games they will always remain fun or just plain awful. It mostly depends on what the developer can do with that particular app.

When money is involved then comparisons will always be made. That's why Nintendo always stays on top,There products are way more inferior to their competition but they always win because of the huge price difference.

I love all these apps because every one of them has unique capabilities.

  • [quote:mqv5v7qx]I just checked the website, because I thought it was 25USD... and it is.

I wanted to like GM, but the UI is just ...too weird.

Ah man sorry i meant $25 Im so used to working with pounds lol.But like i said earlier if CS2 proves to be better than the other competitors in every aspect then id consider buying the $500 licence.

  • I paid 25 pounds for game maker 8 pro.It does have a steep learning curve though.I have created some very interesting 3d games with it using the GMOgre addon. The shader and lighting teqniques for GMOgre are fantastic.Oh and there's absolutely no slowdown even on a lowspec 1.6Ghz comp.

So if C2 can match this or even better this then i would buy it.I still think a once off price is better than this whole licence thing.Id pay for upgrades anytime.

  • Now this is the making of a great game.Superb visuals , Excellent Gameplay and a unique hero character.Keep it up.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Another way of generating income would be to actually sell the games which are made with CS2.Look at UDK for instance,First they made great titles using thier engine and then they made that engine open to the public. How do i judge a good games creation app from a great games creation app?.The answer is quite simple ,By looking at the full games which were created with the app.

If you want to generate an income from CS2 then there has to be games which showcase the technology.Create full games with CS2 , Sell it and see what happens.Your user base would triple simply because people know what to expect from the app.

Its like this ,Wow i played this wikd awesome game and it was created by CS2.That app rocks and the best part is that you can actually buy it to create your own wikd games.See where im going with this?.

  • [quote:3i31go8c]Sounds like you want us to give away C2 free just because you spent a lot on your computer Well, it sounds like you realise we need to do this, so we'll do our best to keep you happy anyway!

a demo version with a 30 day trial. The crackers are going to have a field day with this lol.Ash make sure that it's uncrackable.Piracy kills progress ,Down with piracy arrrr lmao',long live the exe.

  • Money Ashley Money.Ive spent thousands of dollars already on the other apps,pc's and licences.Oh well whats a couple off bucks more, hell yeah go for it.But then i want to see that exe exporter and it has to have a decent 3d object handler.

  • Ahh there goes the free stuff.$149.00 for a licence?.No thank you,Unless it does what UDK can do otherwise im not interested.

  • [quote:2avwrfo6]So yes, we'll throw in some obfuscation to exported projects at some point in the future, to prevent that type of reverse engineering

Thank you Ashley,Your'e the best.Wish i was rich enough so i could actually donate something for an exe exporter for CS2

  • Welcome to Construct Kearel.Personally i think both apps are very good.Actually all these click and create apps are great. They allow us to create games without any programming skills .To all the people that create these great apps ,You all rock!!! yeah baby lol.But i still don't like html5.

  • [quote:1p6bwc9n]Haven't they had problems with people decompiling games since forever?

I know that decompiling or reverse engineering any program can be child's play these days. But there's no harm in making it more difficult for decomps to get your original files.Yes it is a bit paranoid. But if someone want's to create a commercial game then there should be some way to make these files more secure,At least making it more difficult to the average joe out there lol.

  • Way too many placeholders in there.Reduce it and it works fine.

Here is the reduced placeholder cap

  • i dont need game maker, if i wanna write pages of code just to make my character jump ill just write the whole thing on c++. thank god for construct.

but the team really needs to make an exe exporter. ipod and iphone and android exports are great, if they really work that easy its a blessing, but dont forget exe....

CS 4 life!!!!! yeah baby lol.Yes give us an exe exporter for cs2 and it will be the best app ever to create games for.I don't care about web browser games, they are limited and so slow.If i create an exe then it feels like it's my own creation and it's compatible with all windows pc's.

i just cannot get myself to create any webtype game whether it's flash , html or java.Maybe because i had some bad experiences with java and html in the past (security issues,Viruses, privacy issues etc..).Well game maker's exe's are very secure indeed(no files can be extracted).Constructs exe's are not that secure,You can easily extract all the sprites from Construct's exe files. So if an exe exporter is made for CS2 then please make it more secure.
