  • I have yet another problem.

My game involves switching around modules and such for your spaceship, you go on a different layout to do your changes and then you switch back, here is the problem, it doesn't keep those modules that you just equipped (did it via the pin behaviour).

How do I keep those modules and make them transition with the player into another layout?

  • Hello, I need help with creating a long space level that my character can progress through and encounter enemies.

It shouldn't be really wide but long so that the level can be "progressed" through.

That's the best way that I can think of, of doing it. If you have a better suggestion feel free to tell me.

    Thank you for your help!

  • Hello, this is my second post regarding my game, I've got some bugs and problems to fix and I am not quite sure how to do it myself after battling with them for several hours, and so I turn to you guys. Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

Before I put down my problems, here is the Capx file:

    w.w.w.mediafire.com / download/ffcu673y82uo4nd/Construct_Game_Prototype.capx

(I am technically not allowed to post links so I had to split it up like this, just join them together and you shall get a download link)

Now, here is a list of problems:

My game involves modular changes, i.e. the player can equip their ship with different modules that do different things, in between the levels, the game goes to a module changing level, the player equips his desired modules, then goes back out. Most of my problems, if not all of them, revolve around this mechanic.

1.) The module screen doesn't want to change back to gameplay screen after first time (i.e. works only the first time around as it's supposed to, then breaks). I was thinking it might be a problem with the layers but then again I have no idea how to fix this

2.) Not sure how to implement a way for the game to know which modules are being taken out into the level and how to keep track of them (global variable? or something else?)

3.) The background tiles are the other way round than they are supposed to be

I think that's it, point out any other issues that you think will become apparent later on but I am just too dumb to see them now.

Oh and btw, all art is placeholder, we have an artist working on our pixel art.

Thank you again for any help, much appreciated!

  • Hello, this is my first post on this forum, I need help with my college project that me and my mate are currently working on .

Our task for this final college project is to create a game, we switched to Construct 2 after using GameMaker, I am the one responsible for programming since my mate didn't want to touch it.

Our game is quite simple with one good and quite complicated mechanic. It basically is a space invader clone, a player will progress through levels, and kill enemies, each enemy will award you a certain amount of score, after reaching a certain amount of score the player gets transported to the next level. In between the levels we planned to have the ability for the player to upgrade his/her's ship with different "modules", something along the lines from that of Master of Orion 2 or recently released Star Drive 2 module system for ships, only much more simplified.

The problem is, that we don't, or rather I, not exactly sure how to do it, so any help will be greatly appreciated!

We also have this annoying bug that after the player dies the enemies go to the corner for some reason, and after going to lvl 2, the level freezes and we can't do anything, so if anyone could take an extra look that would be amazing.

Here is the link (apparently I can't post links because I don't have enough karma so um, I guess just tell me how to do the module thing, thank you)

Thank you for any help or suggestion regarding our project. Much appreciated
