  • I have just posted a new tutorial on the first steps in making a landing page for your C2/C3 game. It is aimed at beginners so is not very technical - just an orientation to the issues. I am considering writing a more technical piece in the future.

Whilst one's mind is focused on creating games, it can be easy to forget there are other skills needed as an indie dev.

  • I think it is hard to find honest data.

However, some companies do publish their sales figures occasionally. I believe Ustwo games published some on their blog. They are the makers of monument valley.

    Are these figures true? Probably.

  • I have released my first game written with Construct 2 called Eye of the Fiend. It is for iOS and currently available to purchase on the UK app store, with general release scheduled for the first quarter of 2018.

The game is a blend of action, adventure and role playing, viewed top down and played in real time. Set in Earth's near future, Eye of the Fiend takes you on a journey into the outer reaches of Antarctica. You start out as a new worker at a remote mine, and must use your wits and cunning to solve a captivating mystery.

There are five chapters of content and you will need to complete quests, solve puzzles and fight enemies to progress. I've set up a landing page with a full game FAQ, press kit, screen shots and some videos:

  • Nice concept and atmosphere. Although side scrollers not necessarily my thing.

I so prefer indie games these days. The mainstream is so sanitised and samey, and your game is not. Good luck with this!

  • Hello all,

I'm Donjamin and have been using Construct 2 since 2014 - having recently released a game and founded software studio State of Things Ltd.

I think Construct 2 is an awesome computer language (for that surely is what it is?) that allows more people to get into development. This has got to be a good thing.

Glad to be here, and hopefully to give back to the community.

    Thanks for reading!
