  • (The forum wont let me post links, so just copy and paste. Sorry about that.)

This is what I have for my tilemap, its just a test:

This is what I get when I place blocks:

I have double and triple checked the event sheet and everything lines up with the demo you shared. This is making no sense. I have the same sized tilemap and everything seems good. What could be going wrong?

  • Try Construct 3

  • Wow that's a detailed reply! Thanks so much. I think I can figure it out. Thanks for you help I really appreciate it.

  • Ok, I am not quite understanding the number thing. My tilemap is much smaller and I can't get things to show up correctly.

Also is there a way to pre-populate the tilemap so that there are already blocks when I start?

Would I just add a Solid behaviour to walk on the blocks right?

  • You my friend are a genious. Thanks so much!

  • I am trying to make a huge field of blocks, which have a grass edge when the tops are exposed to the air. Then when the person clicks a block that destroys it and the ones around e destroyed block change accordingly to the correct images. Kinda like Growtopia if you have ever played that game.

  • Can someone explain how to do a digging game in Construct 2? And how can I tell it to choose a particular sprite based on whether or not there is open air or more sprites of the same type. I have seen some generic explanations, but I can't figure out how to do it in Construct 2.

  • Oh, I meant that the sprite is added a specific distance away and then dropped there. It shouldn't follow my character. Sorry for the confusion.

  • I am needing to add a sprite a specific number of pixels away from my character Sprite. For some reason I can't quite figure this out. Any advice is appreciated!!!

  • Well, I have a grid of squares, all of them look the same, but when clicked I need to have each one go to a different level. Currently when I copy the square and then try to set them to go to a specific level, it changes all the squares to the same level.

    Does that make more sense?

  • As I come from a Blender background, I am not 100% sure what the proper terminology is in Construct 2, so sorry if I use the wrong wording.

I am testing Constructor out and am making a super simple game where there is a smiley face that collects coins. I am trying to incorporate several levals. Obviously, certain things will be the same between levels, such as the background and coins and stuff like that. I have tried Copy and Paste and it works, but if I try to make any changes it changes the original too!

So, I need to "unlink" the copy I made from the object I copied so that it is it's own seperate entity. This should be something super simple, but I can't quite figure it out. Any help is appreciated!!!
