dimakoles's Forum Posts

You get the distinct impression that dimakoles is using a pirated version and wants to make money from his creations but is worried he'll end up in legal trouble. I'm worried about my business model in relation to my game engine. And try to ask creator of popular game engine about his experience for learning by examples.

It's starting to get a little weird that someone really needs to know how to circumvent Scirra's anti-piracy efforts and get specific details on prosecution of past cases. Some people learn by examples. You can stand on my point and see that more weirder will be not to use the chance to ask experienced man about his experience if it can improve my business.

the fact is that your questions can't really be anwsered, because it is not something that happened to the past (right?)

Actually I don't need detailed info about protecting algorithms that are used right now, may be some examples that worked in the past but does not now. Can I ask this for educational reasons?

Explain please what is inconvinient. The way I ask? or the subject?

    Ashley

I just try to find the best business model for my game engine from C2 experience.

If anyone uses Construct 2 illegally, we have the right to take legal action against them.Could you please share your experience by giving an example?

Picture this, you make an amazing app. You pirated the software of course, no worries. You have 10,000 downloads and you are not worried. Even if my pirated game engine is used for making FREE android game and this game is downloaded 100 times - game engine is still pirated. Why I should not warry about it? Game engine is pirated. If number of pirates will be 80% of total developers that is 1000, than I as game engine creator will loose 4000 * 100$ = 400.000$ where 100$ is the cost of license.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

I think the question is, How does one get caught with their pirated app on the App store? If you don't even go on the Scirra forums or website at all, and just pirated C2, made an app, then sold it and didn't mention that it was made with C2, how WOULD they get caught, except pot luck from a C2 supporter downloading the game, hex editing it, and realising the files contain text referring to C2.Even then there is no way to prove that developer used C2 as Windows/Linux/Mac OS app - but not just javascript code from the free games in the internet, that is legal a guess :-)

    All is about solidarity there.

I believe this answer is what I'm looking for: developer make payment from earned money to invest in himself by investing in C2. Thanks!

Um I don't believe any exported C2 game has any copy protection. C2 toolkit as some kind, but the resulting games do not. If you want the games to have copy protection. I believe your currently on your own.o: why it better for me to pay 119$ for Personal C2 license if I can not to do it just using pirated version? If I want to update my C2 version I just have to install another pirated version.

Those who pay money for C2 explain your decision, please.

    6. "What is next? How Ashley can check am I pirate or not?"

Answer: He reads Your forum posts... I want to make my released soon game engine profitable, that's why I ask this question.

I know that I can but I do not.

To make a final point in this question following is the most substantial.

Also note license files contain your personal information which we can link to your payment details, so we can immediately locate the individuals and payment details involved in these "cracks"!

But I can not expand it in real use-case. For example:

    1. I make a game with pirated version of C2

    2. I export it for PhoneGap

    3. I compile APK in Eclipse

    4. I publish it on Google Play

    5. Ashley download my APK

    6. What is next? How Ashley can check am I pirate or not?

    Kyatric,

Pirate is man who have maked game with C2 and have published it on Android and iOS markets without paying 119$ for C2 Personal license.

<font size="3">All other licenses are purchased but C2 Personal license is not.</font>

Relation between C2 torrents and my game engine release is that if C2 can not avoid piracy how will do I?

I can not understand why somebody should pay 119$ if it is possible not to do it?

On the flip side it does show just how popular C2 is becoming, if people want it so badly that they are willing to pirate it!I wonder because I don't know what to do with privacy in relation to my game engine + level editor + tens of plugins + builder for Android and iOS. I believe it can be profitable, but when I see Construct 2 torrents in the internet I lose my faith.

Can anyone help me with question professionally?

Well I'm not sure how cocoon is doing things currently, but Im pretty sure they are planning on some licensing.

Beyond that you absolutely have to purchase a license to publish to Apple.

Then I haven't even checked to see what is involved with publishing to Android market.Yes but it does not mean you can not use hacked Construct 2 for making Android and iOS games.
