  • Should it happen in the future, I will do that. Thanks - all is working fine now.

  • The games are fine now (1/9/15) but they were definitely not working over the weekend on multiple computers using IE and Windows 7 and 8.1.

I believe that concern is still warranted.

Why did the problem appear and why did it apparently spontaneously disappear with no action on my part??

  • Update:

The same black screen appears on Firefox as well.

The games affected were developed using the 3 latest versions of Construct 2. They are at googledrive.com/host/0BzGYmojxn3PwczRvc3p3QjhKakU/games.htm

  • Here's my gift to everyone this holiday season. I wrote it using Construct 2.

It's a pinball game: Winter Pinball at:

    googledrive.com/host/0BzGYmojxn3PwczRvc3p3QjhKakU/PinballXmas/index.html preceded by "https://"

(where there's a will, there is a way)

    Enjoy!

  • I'm using r190 of Construct 2 and still can't upload to the Arcade. I would prefer not to go backward to r186.2 and I have some seasonal games that I would like to upload. Any word as to when this export issue will be resolved?

  • Whereas MS IE was not the greatest platform to run C2 programs in the past, now it is a bloomin' disaster. My C2 programs (when they run at all) now run very s-l-o-w-l-y, with large blackout areas, and screen flashes. The previously running C2 programs have not been changed but, apparently, recent modifications to IE have compromised its use for C2 programs.

Is (can) anything being done to address this issue?

  • That's not the answer in that the wav, ogg and m4a files have all been imported into the programs and, for testing, I was using the sound files provided with Construct 2. The sounds work fine when the program is played through the Run Layout option of Construct 2 which incidentally uses IE10 as the default browser. So, when run locally, it works fine but when run through GoogleDrive as a host the sounds do not work when using IE.

So, I guess that it's beginning to look like the Google server is to blame huh.

  • The application plays sounds that work fine using Google Chrome but I get nothing when I run the same program in IE10. the program is running on the Google server.

  • Yeah, I found what I was messing up. It seems that you have to have the number of frames pre-defined (before run time), i.e. you cannot load an image into a frame that does not yet exist (via the animation editor).

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • How do I load individual sprite animation images for a selected sprite at run time. I know of the "Load image from URL" but how do I get the image into a particular frame of the animation?

Can I have different instances of the sprite with different animation sequences?

  • On GoogleDrive on the web you download the "Google Drive for PC" and install it on your computer. This creates a Google Drive on your C drive which is synched to the web. Anything (in our case Export Project from Construct 2) in that folder will appear automatically on the web version.
