  • Simple enough. Is it possible to stretch one side of the view so that I can emulate an atari like look to a game without having to manually create "stretched" pixels via graphics?

    i.e. I want a 88, 122 layout to stretch to 704, 448 size when played.

  • I love Construct 2 for what it can do in regards to prototyping and basic design, but as a noob, it's definitely been a bit of a nightmare trying to understand moving things over to mobile.

  • Cool! Thank you for that !

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Nevermind! I wasn't ware of the need for positiontotile. :3

    This thread helped me : scirra.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=147&t=94677&p=734298&hilit=+erase+tile+#p734298

  • Pretty simple.

    I have a sprite with an image point.

    When that image point overlaps a tile, I want the tile erased.

    Can't seem to get it to work for the life of me. :/

  • ... at once.

    It's the only time my games tend to lag severely.

    Any info on why this happens?

    I'm not even talking a BUNCH of objects, maybe just 3-4.

  • *bump*

    Apparently "Adjust HSL" also does not work. :/

    Is there some kind of tutorial out there for what can / can't be done on various devices / setups?

    It's very frustrating to have something work perfectly on desktop browsers then be completely broken on the mobile device I'm trying to dev for.

  • Doesn't matter where I set the db, the music plays at full blast when I'm previewing my device over the network.

    I'm using an iPhone 5, previewing in safari.

  • Hrm. I fixed it. I was using touch.XforID when I should have been using touch.Xat. :3

    Not sure why it worked in my browser though regardless. :/

  • So when I run this in my browser it works as I want it to / would expect.

    The character moves towards where the latest touch is on screen (up until the touch reaches a certain point where the player defaults to up or down or left and right... that still works on both).

    Unfortunately on the phone, the player moves towards what looks like 0,0 on the layout, which makes me think when it's trying to look for the touch there's nothing there?

    Not really sure what's going on.

  • Just wanted to revisit this topic and say I'm still having hella-trouble with FPS spikes / lag affecting things in a game breaking kinda way, even after implementing my hack. ;-;

  • Yeah, this would be nice. I'd really like to be able to rely on Construct's in-built behaviors with out having to craft my own just to get around delta time. ;-;

    I mean, it feels like the idea is that eventually computers will be fast enough that this won't matter, but right now I'm having trouble on a fairly fast computer whenever I try to stream or there are random FPS spikes / lags... and I can't even begin to imagine how awful it'd be on mobile platforms.

    Once again, I totally respect where Ashley is coming from on this, but since we're not in the age of everyone-having-a-fast-computer, would be nice to have this as an option for devs like us who don't mind the FPS slow down and want consistent behavior.

  • Okay. So for some reason when I move the tilemap to -16,-16, which is where I had it so I could use it to create a boundary around the edge of the layout, everything gets wonky, including the collision polygons.

    I moved it back to 0,0, and now it's fine. :/

  • In game everything is offset by one pixel down and to the right, but in the editor it looks fine.

    Obviously I can just work around this by manuall making objects in the editor offset, but I'd rather have it just work. :/

    Thanks in advance.

    P.S. Oh, sorry the project is a bit of a mess. The objects and tilemap in question are on Layer 3.

    Also it seems the player character is a pixel off the ground, even when I move the tilemap into the right position. ;-;
