  • I noticed something odd. In Firefox the framerate dips a lot when the camera view is scrolled away from a corner. So standing around in the middle of the level (not moving, just standing there) gets me about 12-15fps. But if I stand around in a corner of the level, where two layout edges meet, I get about double that amount. It doesn't seem to matter much how many ghosts are on the screen at the time, but more on where the camera is at the moment.

  • Thank god I'm living out of HAARP's reach.

There is no "out of HAARP's reach." Unless you're at least sixty-three feet under ground they can read your DNA from anywhere on the planet. The Bilderbergers could have a clone ready and shipped to replace you in less than eleven days.

11 and 63 - The month and year JFK was assassinated! COINCIDENCE?

I don't know if I can post for a while guys. A black helicopter followed me home and now it's hiding in the bushes outside my window. If you don't hear from me some time within the next few days, I'm probably clone bait. In fact, my account could be compromised right now. I could be a clone and not even know it. DO YOU SEE HOW DEEP THIS GOES

  • Fluoride occurs naturally in tea, in much higher concentrations than in your drinking water, and people have been drinking tea for thousands of years. In small doses fluoride is a health benefit, and there is no serious research proving otherwise. Fluoride hysteria is just that... hysteria. It's a conspiracy theory.

The only real problem with toxic levels of fluoride comes from waste from aluminum smelting plants, and that water isn't meant for human consumption. It does affect fish though, if that makes you happy.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to shield my head with tin foil because the HAARP network is redirecting my brainwaves to a secret CIA bunker in the Horsehead Nebula.

  • Gradients?

I thought we'd get to leave behind the gradient hell of amateur Newgrounds flash games. *sigh*

  • Yeah, I googled it after I made my post but I left the post because someone else might have that question and not bother googling it so uh yeah...

  • I realise this may be in the wrong place as it's basically an introduction

    You are correct!

If you'd like to make a separate topic discussing your Portal engine efforts then feel free to do so in the Your Creations forum.

  • While I think that XP is a much better OS overall, and don't really like 7 or Vista as much...

I used to think this too. I hung on to XP for a really long time because I didn't think I needed anything more than XP. Then I had to switch from XP x86 to Win7 x64 because I got a new processor (thanks Jeff... wherever you are) and I'm oh so glad I did. Win7 was a bit different so it took a little getting used to, but man is it ever a better OS than XP. By like, a LOT. I was pleasantly surprised.

Vista is garbage though. My girlfriend has it on her laptop and I really can't stand using her laptop.

  • I can't vote for some stupid reason, so, yeah, Win7/Vista user here.

It's because you're using the Czar Green theme. It's an old theme that is incompatible with the current version of phpBB on the forum. If you want to vote and have the quick reply box and all those other fancy features you need to switch your theme to Saphic.

  • I just make my own "pew pew pew BOING" noises while I play. It's easier than making real sound effects.

  • Really. So Construct 2 won't have Shaders? Guuuu...

Not necessarily. It just means that HTML5 games can't have shader effects.

  • That's a really nice effect, I like it a lot. Is it an .fx file? Or are you doing it with events?

  • Nice game. Quite difficult and with quick learning curve. You need to improve your graphics though.

I quite like the graphics actually. They're nice and clean, and the assets have a consistent look with each other. That's a huge step above many small game projects.

Then again, I've noticed that if a game has bad graphics a lot of people won't care. If it has really good graphics, a lot of people still won't care. But if it has graphics that are pretty decent, but not great, all of a sudden everyone says "you need better graphics!"

  • Platform behavior as deadeye said

I was just joking . I really don't think it's a priority at this early stage.
