  • That's pretty slick looking, man. Glad to see you're still working on stuff <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Not everybody reads all the rules

If the Views count on the forum rules thread is any indication, you are absolutely right <img src="smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Currently whenever you hit a BBcode button or a smiley it adds it to the end of your message, even if the cursor is in the middle of your text. Is there any way to change the functionality so that it adds it in-line where the cursor is, the way the old forum did?

Also, auto-wrapping tags around a selection would be nice, for instance if I paste an image url, then highlight the url and hit the Insert Image button it would put the

[ /IMG]tags around the url, similarly to how phpBB did it. Or highlighting a sentence and hitting Bold. That sort of thing. That isn't as important as the in-line insert though. But it would be really handy! <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

One other thing, I find Prompt Mode to be really annoying! And the site doesn't remember my settings when I change it to Basic mode. If that setting could be saved or cookied or something that would be super awesome. And if not then I propose a change to make Basic Mode the default setting <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Tom... don't get rid of signatures. If you need to only allow sigs for people above a certain rep, in order to defeat spambots or to offer a perk to those that have been here for a bit then that's fine. It shouldn't be too high a requirement though, perhaps 500 rep, or less even.

We do have rules stating what can go into a sig and how big it can be, because the old forum was getting pretty cluttered with big sigs. After the rules were put in place it wasn't too bad. And if people don't like sigs they can always turn them off, yes?

At any rate, I do think people need a way to show off their stuff or link to their social networks or blogs or whatever, and a sig is pretty much the best way to do it. To get rid of them entirely is a bit drastic.

    Pro-sig here...

Having no sigs will be really crap.

90-120 pixel limit should be more than fine...

The rules state (and have for some time) that your sig can be no more than 90px tall.

You need to shrink your sig down a bit, mister! Come on, now... you have to lead by example <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle">

And the offending bot should be banned here pretty soon... sorry we're not 100% on top of things yet, the new forum is taking some getting used to.

  • Not Construct related, but I made a time lapse video showing the modeling, texture painting, and animation of one of the enemy characters in my current project:

  • Getting between 60-64fps in FF5. Occasionally it will spike to around 55 or so, but not often.

    Dual core, Win7x64, 2GB ram, 9500GT

Overall I'm pretty impressed. It wasn't that long ago that I couldn't even run a small embedded HTML5 game in my browser of choice, and now I'm getting good performance at fullscreen <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Would there be any way to filter out the default Gravatar avatar?  So we don't see this on the forum:
