  • Disabling the test mode property of the Windows 8 object took me longer than I would like to admit. I searched all over the website and the manual and could not find any information that explained exactly how to do it. The only thing useful in my searching was the manual page that mentioned the existence of the property.

It turns out to be a newbie type issue. I kept expecting to see the Windows 8 object in my "Object Bar" window. Seems logical, right... Well it turns out certain objects, like the Windows 8 object, can only be found in the "Project Bar" window under the "Object types" folder. Once you know that, it's as simple as clicking on the Windows 8 object and then setting properties like any other object via the "Properties Bar" window.

Hopefully this comes up quickly in the search for any other newbies racking their brains on this issue. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Thank you very much, this was really bothering me. I wasn't sure that the Test Mode was being set by Construct 2. I was looking for a solution in Visual Studios to no avail.

  • It's been about two weeks. Has anybody else had this problem yet?

  • My latest project works great in HTML5 and whenever I run it on my own computer. But, when trying to upload my latest project to the Windows 8 store, the tester says

"Unfortunately, when our reviewers tried to launch your app failed to launch every time. Our reviewers were unable to complete a review. If we were able to capture a crash report, we have provided it to you. Please see: go.microsoft.com/fwlink for information on how to work with the crash reports."

The crash report mainly says "ErrorDescription=Access is denied"

    The full report: dropbox.com/s/bnlemq2khmuyt1h/ErrorInfo.3316.3884.txt

I've had other Construct 2 games get certified for Windows 8 before with no problem...

Any ideas? Has anybody else had this problem?

ps - The game also passes the Windows 8 Certification Kit.

  • I was just doing a search for Windows 8 posts, and know this is an old post. But, I wanted to share my times to available-in-store. And hopefully compare it to others.

    1) 2 days, 10.5 hr

    2) 3 hours, 50 minutes

    3) 13 hours, 4 minutes

    4) 19 hours, 30 minutes

And some of mine have been rejected and the turnaround time for that was as quick as 4 hours.

  • Hi!

I've always wanted to make fun and great looking games, but knew that it was a lot of work. Seems that Construct 2 greatly simplifies the process. If I like the development process of the free version, then I will probably upgrade to the paid version.

Who uses the paid version? Which one, and what is it like?
