  • I liked the style a lot. Interesting art and unique gameplay.

Hopefully you'll have more puzzles to solve as the game goes on though as the light thing will get tired fast.

  • I was impressed with the visuals. Looked crisp even with the large scale and the controls are smooth. It needs sound effect though to give the game that Impact. That jolt if you will that excites and rewards.

  • Audio quality is solid.

  • Thanks.

I see a lot of games on the web that are artistically beautiful but lack any depth. I didn't wan't to make another Meatboy or angry bird clone I wanted to do something with diversified gameplay. I decided outright that a creating varied elements of the game would make its development more complex and therefore chose to focus on that rather than the visuals. Still even with that and it's short length taken into consideration it was an arduous task. Perhaps someday if I ever get paid to do this sort of thing I will be able to pursue the dream of a webgame app with more depth and perhaps return to Dolph. Until then, for now my next project will most likely be much more simplistic (and polished) in nature.

  • You should get your own music. Let me know if you need a track ;)

  • You mean the sound from when you beat the cat? Thanks for playing btw.

  • Thank you very much I appreciate that. For the game you actually have to scroll down a bit lol.

  • I'd like to extend to you an invitation to play my game Dolph Cyberfin at vidavicarious.com

Eventually the ultimate goal for Dolph Cyberfin is to become an example of a web/mobile game that combines the accessibility and ease of use of ?casual? games with the depth and diversity more often associated with ?hardcore? gaming mediums.

Set in the near future, Dolph Cyberfin is the tale of a derelict half dolphin half robot military sentinel who, after becoming self aware, escapes the confines of the facility in which he was created.

Players assume the role of Dolph, and must harness Dolph?s skill, strength and wits in order to help Dolph attain his freedom.

All assets were created by myself. I hope you enjoy the game and look forward to your feedback!

  • The restart layout + reset variables action seems to have worked. Thanks to Kyatric for the advice. I uploaded the game almost a week ago. Hopefully It'll be up soon.

  • No minify script option Java installed.

have tried with 32bit java and 64 bit

    running 32 bit windows 7

  • But my protagonist traverses from layer to layout to layout. Each one is a room. Can we get a reset all layouts function? Damn.... I've worked so hard on this just to get stuck here.... <img src="smileys/smiley18.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I've made a sort of Metroidvainia style game and well It's a little complex. Bottom line is when the player dies the reset global variables command just isn't doing the trick. Rather than reprogram half the game for when the player starts over It would save me a heck of a lot of time if I could just refresh/reload the game. Now I know that for the arcade routing to another page has been disabled. But what about reloading the page? Or is there perhaps another command that can reload the game to its original state?

  • Thank you for the prompt reply Arima.

  • First off I tip my hat to Scirra and the Construct crew for a great job on a great game creator.

I've nearly finished my game I've been working on for a few months and I'm ready to upload to the arcade but I have a question: In the future will I be able to delete my game from the Scirra arcade?

Yes I am aware that this question has been posed before however the responses given were somewhat ambiguous:

"We 'can' delete your game if you request."

"...If you have a good reason..."

Now I realize that you guys are busy and I understand that you can not instantaneously comply with every request to delete a game, however I would like a concise response to the question of weather or not my game will be deleted If I were to request it. Whether it takes a day or a week is not really a concern, what is a concern though is that if perhaps in the future I, for whatever reason, need to remove the game from the Scirra arcade that this can and will be achieved. Or is it that by uploading my game I have by default given you the right to host it forevermore?

  • What you wanna to is have a whole layer devoted to your fade effect. Make sure it's the top layer and make it black or whatever color you want to fade to. Then you make an event that says to adjust the opacity when you specify. I sorely wish this was a built in feature. As for fading text you can add the fade behavior to any text or sprite.
