  • Thank you. I will create the map using Tilemap. Just thought that a Photoshop type .png complete map would have been better. EASIER YES; BUT Not practicle.

  • Thank you for your feed back. I know what you say. BUT; If I load 20 sprites and each have 100 {just for clarity} instances of those sprites created. Is it better to let construct create those 100's of instances each call to the map? or; is it better to negate that and fully have the required map already created as a .png with no instances and just apply collisions? Thank you. I could use Photoshop or another tool like RPGMaker and such to achieve the same result.

  • Which would be best? Create a game map with all sprite images - save as .png & Load that into construct, then add collisions to it. OR - Have Construct Create new map and design it with numerous sprites and the many instances of those sprites achieving the same result. Which would use less memory & which would load quicker - less CPU and or GPU memory.

  • Well I got that file from construct 3 website in a response to question I had about a standalone version some years back. Today I loaded a hard drive that had my zip files on it. VIOLA! C77 stable 64bit. Happy, Happy. installed it, downloaded the NW.js version 049 Installed that right over the C77 installation I havve it ALL. Yup save to project folder. Runs great. So; Browser NAH! If there were a way to upload thiose [2] I would. Sincw I can not find them on the site any longer. Yes I download the updates and it finds construct 3 installed and updates that version :p. cool.   • Hey Jase00. Yeah but the version I am running is 276.2 cause I look from the about section form the menu tab. It reads 276.2 :) I tried the C77 64bit but some issue, not loading. So I resorted to the later. C75 stable. that's just the version written for 64bit. I AM running the latest stable C276.2. So this are good. I have ALL the behaviors, addons everything that the browser version offers. Only THIS one allows me to save to Project Folder with ALL the containing subfolders. Sweet. Thanks for the reply though.

  • Currently I use =>"construct3-win64-c77-stable" instead of The browser version. I tried using the Browser version but realized there is NO option for a Project folder save that has ALL the folders along with it like, objects, events, items etc. so I use the abover version. But I have [2] versions the c75 and the c77. But issues with c77 have me using the c75. I can load updates in around about way but it works much better. I get to see ALL the folders in my project! Does some one have an answer to that browser base not saving to project folder?

  • Het! thanks for getting back. Sorry it took a couple a days. Just moved in to new place. BUT; no event sheet is there. YES with ALL the code is gone. wow. Still I love this enegine. Things happen. :) I have sinced moved forward and recreated event sheet & {re-written} the code. Oh; by the way. I am Not using the browswer as a login app to run construct 3. I have a downloaded version=> construct3-win64-c75-stable release I had downloaded some time ago maybe [2] years?? from construct site. 64bit version. worls off line seems to work very well. But it does NOT update automatically. I am not sure how to run the construct 3 browser version from my desktop with being online. But I use FireFox. Thanks Fluffle!

  • Strangest thing. New project. Simplw keyboard entry setup with platform behavior. one player. standard 8 player moves, but using the arrow keys. ok. Game auto saves. Plus I also had saved the project. BUT! as I was playing the player movements checking them out, walk, run, jump change animation from walk to run animation - player would pop off screen. No player on screen. WOW! OK. save game. exit. reload recent project. OMG! no event sheet.Boom. Gone! not even in the save area was my project to be found. Hope this is not a bug. BUT! I surely do LOVE Construct 3. Thank you all for writing such a great engine.

  • Thank you for the reply. Would you know why Google Chrome Comes up with "try disabling browser addons" when I login and click to run construct3 in chrome? No Good.I went to extentions / addons and I deleted them all! So I tried Google Chrome again after deleting all browser addons. STILL NO GOOD. I am thinking maybe Kaspersky Virus software. But I checked, site not blocked, everything good. thanx for you time.

  • I would like to run construct 3 in firefox off line. How can I do that. I tried google chrome. No Good. Comes up with "try disabling browser addons" I deleted them all! Then interent explorer. No Good. No required dll's and other files. So I tried Google Chrome again after deleting all browser addons. STILL NO GOOD. Tired already. So I use construct2. Thanks if you can help.

  • Hey. DOP2000. Thanks for the answer. But yes I know I could copy and paste. But really was hoping for a copy from one project to another possiably outside of construct like I mentioned. Your way you mentioned does work. I have done that. But that too, is so lengthy. A shame we are unable to do that. Guess something that wouls need to be programmed; say; Java script. This way any duplicate object(s) and or folder(s) would be renamed to protect destination project and it's contents. probly with the word .dup at the end. Sounds like a plan. Thanx and be well.

  • I have [2] projects. One has many things already working and is quite large with assets. The other project needs levels, icons, objects, event sheets from what is in project[1] to nearly complete project[2]. I really do NOT rellish redoing all of the project[1] maps, sprites, etc; in the project[2]. I tried just copying over all the subdirectories from project[1]. Deleting .uistate files; which included deleting the projects .uistate xml file. So; when it rebuilds with the new files added, it should incorporate those into the project. DOH. Nope. I looked at the projects .uistate xml. I see that it lists files, folders with certain numbers allocated to the assets. In there was a designation per-line call of 0, 1,2,4,8,12. etc; pertaining to the locations of folders and calls to assets. like this=>: <folder expanded="1" path="animation-folder/turretshell/" I figured deleting this would work. Nope. Hope it can be done and if not? maybe food for thought. I imagine someone out there would like to save time. Thanx.

    I had a feeling that if I created a full map,

    less player and interactive objects - It should not

    be a problem. But just wasn't sure enough.

    This is an awesome editor for creating most! any style game.

    I feel confident in going forward with a multitude of creative map

    designs. I know that keeping the tick event is so important.

    Control the events and you control the game!

    Well! Now the only limitation of course; is ones imagination!

    Just so stoked. My game is a copulation of RPG; Adventure; plus a puzzle

    solving journey that has the attention of the player needing to actually

    read what is presented to them for the clues they need.

  • Hello: I am in need of a mapping answer :).

    Prerequisites:

    I am using Game-Map Generator from GraphicRiver.net for Photo Shop. $15

    Outstanding script plugin. Now then:

    ====================================

    I create my game map. Oversized say: 2560 x 1920.

    Then down size it to 1280 x 960. In case I would like to expand it.

    Export {save} it as a .PNG file as maybe 16bit.

    It is then used as a Sprite in Construct 2 for use a Game Map.

    OK, now you have the gist of what I am doing.

    [Q] Is it wise to bring in that map as a sprite object?

    [Q] Will it use up too much time loading? (there will be several used)

    [Q] Will it consume too much resource(s) and cause the game to eventually

    Fail?

    The game will be used at first on a PC & or MAC. But PC for right now.
