  • Sorry about the nightmares :) The bigger ants are really only there for phone users so they can make the ants a sensible size on their small screens. I have to increase the size 5 times above default on my Moto Z and on my old Samsung Galaxy S2 I need to increase them 7 or 8 times to get something of a realistic size.

  • The Ant counter is now live. I'd love to know how many ants you can spawn before your PC or phone slows down.

I've had 3000 ants on my Moto Z phone with 1800 being the maximum it can display smoothly.

My laptop can handle 18000. I didn't go more than that as I could hardly see the screen :) The ants were a little slow at this speed. 8000 run smoothly.

  • Hehe. I presume you mean when the size wraps and they are suddenly bigger. On a monitor they do look a bit creepy when they are big :)

I will be adding a counter for the ants soon so you will know how many are on screen :)

  • Virtual Ants has had an minor AI update and more importantly a spawn 100 ants button added. Simply click or tap the small search bar with the magnifying glass to spawn 100 ants at a time. You can now spawn thousands in seconds. I've had several hundred running on my mobile phone and several thousand on my PC.

  • I created some realistic ants while practicing my AI routines for enemies to go into my main project. These little guys were so much fun I thought I'd make them into a simple game/experience. This is web based so no download is necessary.

Read the simple instructions before playing... Enjoy!

Please point me in the direction of the "numerous threads that links will be fixed as soon as possible." at which point you will have my apology. Until then Maybe you like to look at the few recent posts I have made regarding this which have no reply. oh and BTW Caps is not shouting it is a means of getting attention. I'm sorry but I predate the WWW and don't agree that something as simple as capital letters is shouting and it certainly isn't rude. What is rude is being completely ignored in a forum for a product you have paid good money for!

I AM A SMALL INDIE DEVELOPER. ANY MARKETING I CAN GET IS A BLESSING. HAVING YOUR GAME DEMO PICKED UP BY OVER 30 ONLINE ARCADES IS PRETTY GOOD NEWS UNTIL YOU REALISE NONE OF THE LINKS ARE WORKING. THE TROUBLE IS THEY ARE STARTING TO DITCH THE LINKS. ALSO MY GAME DEMO NO LONGER FEATURES ON THEIR NEW GAMES PAGES. IN OTHER WORDS I HAVE PROBABLY MISSED THE BOAT. THE SAME IS TRUE OF THE PRESS KITS I SENT OUT WITH THE SCIRRA ARCADE LINK THAT DIDN'T WORK AT THE TIME. I HAVE HAD TO PUT MY MARKETING ON HOLD UNTIL YOUR SITE IS SORTED OUT.

I HAVE ASKED NICELY A FEW TIMES ON THIS FORUM WHEN ARE THE LINKS GOING TO BE FIXED AND HAVE HAD NO REPLY.

UNTIL RECENTLY I PRAISED CONSTRUCT ON EVERY DEV FORUM AND DISCORD I BELONG TO. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO START TELLING PEOPLE NOW ISN'T THE TIME TO GET CONSTRUCT. FOR NOW I JUST DON'T OFFER AN OPINION.

ALL I WANT IS AN ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION. WHEN WILL THE EMBEDDED LINKS BE FIXED.

    PLEASE ANSWER!

  • My game demo has been linked by multiple arcades but none of the links have ever worked due to the changes going on with the Scirra/Construct site. Can someone please confirm that this issue will be fixed and if so when. The direct link to the Scirra Arcade works fine, it's sites with embedded links that don't work.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Please tell me this is going to be sorted out. I AM LOSING SALES because the 30 odd websites that picked up my demo are not able to run the game demo they are linked to because it hangs with what looks to be a Scirra advert frame...

  • As the title says, embedded links to the arcade are still not working with what looks to be the games black frame hanging with the message "Game will be playable in 5 seconds" Even waiting for a few minutes makes no difference. Google "Nest Lander Demo" and click on any of the Web Arcades linked to my demo to see the error for yourself.

  • Many thanks Tom. The Arcade is now working however the links from other sites still seem to be broken. Maybe the embedded code is wrong? This is what I seem to get on the several sites I have tried the game on. Google "Nest Lander Demo" and take your pick of any of the Arcades listed and the issues is the same.

I hope this can be resolved soon.

    Thanks

  • I am trying to be patient as I know you are moving etc but my game demo has been linked by over 30 web arcades and none of the links work because the arcade is down and or the game doesn't load & run. It's the same for everyones games AFAIK.

Unfortunately I launched my game on May 28th which is just before the Arcade became really unstable.

Can you please tell me when the Arcade is expected to be up?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

I am making a game that requires me to land a sprite on a pad. So I need to land the sprite, play a jingle or sound just once then the player may be required to take off again depending on how many pads are on the level. The trouble is when I land the sound is repeating until I take off. I've searched the forums and tried a couple of things but they don't work.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi all. My name is Ian. I'm new to Construct 2 ... Obviously but I have done some game design and pro graphics work for the c64 many many years ago. My own coding has never been brilliant. I dabbled in Blitz Basic and more recently Cerberus X (Monkey X) but wanted to produce games on my own. This is mostly as a hobby to see how it goes but with a view to monetizing some titles in the future, if I get good enough. I've already made more progress on my prototype in a few days with Construct 2 that I managed with Cerberus X in a few weeks.

I like all sorts of games but have a soft spot for retro games. I have several concepts for games and all of them are retro styled, relying on simple mechanics that shouldn't be out of my reach with Construct 2. I look forward to sharing them with this awesome community.

Construct 2 really is an awesome tool and makes me realise how good the guys I worked with on the Commodore 64 were. They coded in pure assembly language and had to work with under 64K of memory and still managed to produce fun games.
