  • Hi schueppe, that's great. I watched the video, and that's exactly what I was looking for.

Please keep us updated and let us know when it will be in the Scirra Store.

    Great work!

  • Hi there,

My team is currently developing an 8bit style pixel-art platformer. I'm looking for a freelance Construct 2 developer/coder with experience in implementing leaderboards and achievement systems, whether built from the ground up or with third party services like ClayIO, Game Jolt, NugPlay etc.

Anybody with the experience, please send me a PM or reply here. It would be great if you could ready your rate card as well

    Thanks

    Clockszy

PS We're looking for someone who is available to get involved with the project immidiately!

  • This might be a bit of a n00b request, but I'd like clarity on the leaderboard and achievement options I have available for developing an HTML5 game.

In my short time with Construct 2 I've come across some names of Services (some that ship with plugins baked into C2) that can help you set up a leaderboard for your game. Names like Game Jolt, Nugplay, Clayio (which is currently not active). But it's not clear whether these services/plugins work only if your actual game is hosted on their site/service.

    The Question:

What I don't quite understand is whether:

    1) these services only work when integrated with their platform, and not if you're self hosting your game on your own server

    2) these services can work for an HTML only game. Ie game I don't plan on publishing to Google Play or Apple

Can anyone shed some light here?

Nugplay seems to have issues, and so I tried Game Jolt. With Game Jolt it seems users have to have an account with the service already (no provision for signing up when playing), and the game needs to be running from the Game Jolt servers for the API to even work. Not ideal for what I'm looking for.

Does anyone have another service to suggest?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

    * As I write this, I'm trying to implement Nugplay from this tutorial: https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/1396/s ... astcomment

    Thanks

  • Appreciate the feedback I did come across that template. It's pretty much the only fleshed out one in the store.

  • Hey zenox98, thnaks for the reply. Yeah, no luck in the Store or on Codecanyon either. It seems like RPGs aren't as popular as platformers - you don't really see a lot of the same standout quality you do in terms of the platformer engines and templates out there. I've just finished working with a really solid engine for a game for a client's intranet.

I would actually love to put in the time and stitch together some of the cool stuff I've found in the Scirra Tutorials, but I have this upcoming project with a tight deadline. I doubt I'd be able to start from scratch and still sleep enough at night!

  • Hi! Does anyone know of, or has anyone developed an RPG template or engine that plays like the Legend of Zelda or Pokemon games from the Gameboy Advance era?

I'm desperately looking for an engine I can get and start applying my own artwork and assets to.

Anyone know of anything? It would be much appreciated!
