  • Thank you for the response. I will give them both a try. The first one does seem more practical. But as I am currently playing with the free version. My layers are limited. So I might have to experiment with the second option until I can afford to buy the program in a month or two. Thanks!

  • Hello, I feel like I have been asking way more questions then normally lately. But everyone here has been very helpful. So my character goes into a fast roll. And I made fire like particles to trail behind while he is rolling. Every thing is working nicely. And the fire looks great. But, when it spawn on the spawn point. It is spawing on top of the player and I would like it in back.

    I though about trying to.

Make a box that spawns the fire. Setting its position to player image point but behind him on the z order. But Was not sure if this would work. Was not sure if there was a simple formula I could use to spawn the particles behind the player. Thanks for your help.

  • Space doesn't work when the left arrow key is down on some keyboards. Try switching your jump button to another key.

This absolutely worked. Thanks....not sure why I had not tried this yet.

  • No, I have not. I will give that a try.

Unfortunately, that did not make a difference.

  • So here is my scenario and problem.

I have made a character who is a ball. His walk animation is a bounce. When walking left and right you can hold down right key and jump at the same time. As well as the left key and jump at the same time.

    SO.....

Now I have an animation that makes the ball roll. I have the keys set so that while Space is being pressed the ball goes into the roll animation. I can Hold (Space+Right Arrow) at the same time and Jump. But....While i am holding down "Space" (making the ball roll) and "Left arrow" at the same time. He will not jump. I have to take my finger off left arrow. It seems while I am holding Space and left arrow key jump is not registering.

Would anyone know any reason this might be happening? it is really frustrating. Here is my player set up.

  • I will give it a try. The tiled background thing may work as well, have not though about trying that.

  • Seems like whenever i make a seamless tile, no matter what size i make it 128 / 64 / 32. Whenever i import them into construct 2 and try snapping them together there is always about a 1 pixel space between them. Is there some sort of trick or something I am missing? I have made all my tiles is seamless studio.

  • This has also happened to me since the first time I tried a game. After reading everyone's comments about the game play, I thought I was the only one. I would like to figure this out too. I have all up to date drivers running the latest version of chrome.

  • Trying to make a character for a game who is kind of a kind hearted not so bright Mullet guy. Im really no artist and was kind of hoping I might get suggestions or help on Bringing him to life a little more. Maybe a little more Charisma. He is going to be one of the main characters. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  • You might make a good point. While i am playing through my lvl, he i seem to loose track of him a bit sometimes with the busyness. Although i did lighten the background images and set the background to scroll at a different pace. It made a big difference. But now you got me thinking about changing some character colors. I think you make a good point.

  • Thank you for the suggestions. And i definitely will look into applying different scroll rates. I have not done that. I think that might help a lot. But i am Going to go through and try to make the background colors a little lighter To bring out the active layer.

And i appreciate the compliment. This is my first game and have never really tried to draw anything like this before. I feel like i have spent my last two weeks doing nothing but inkscape =)

  • Was wondering if you guys had and tricks or tips for making the active layer you play on. stand out a little more then the background. I recently started redrawing everything (I am really no artist but have been trying my best.) But to me it looks like all the colors are just kind of mashing together everywhere. And my interactive elements and enemies are just kind of blending in. And thoughts?

  • Thanks.

  • So i have a Animation through Spriter. I made one called "duck"

My Playerbox that my animation is set to, has a size of 32x90

I really want to make my character be able to duck under oncoming bullets.

This is kind of how i have gone about it so far. I can get the playerbox to avoid bullets fine. but my animation is not playing correctly. I think it has something to do with maybe while the Arrow is being held down it is playing over and over?

    Any suggestions?

  • I have animated my player sliding down the wall. But when i jump off he stays in the slide pose. Any ideas. This is my set up so far.
