..you need to set "roller" origin point x=0...

I must be missing something - I can't find how to set the original point x = 0. Nothing in events, nothing on the roller sprite itself to set this. Probabably sounding stupid but forgive my newbie questions...

  • Hi,

I've had a search and also found a tutorial regarding links and JS and it's beyond my understanding and what I need anyway.

What is the simplest method to create a web link from my game?. Example - I have a small Facebook image/logo which I want users to click on and be taken to a Facebook page. Simplest/quickest way to achieve this?.

  • Thanks, appreciate it.

Don't really understand it though. Set WWidh to WindowWidth?.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Thanks R0j0, blackhornet and korbaach,

Had plenty to play about with, for some reason cannot get OR blocks to show up, read up and doing everything right but they wont show?. Anyway really liking that Korbaach and I've began to base my own off your version.

But for some reason the invisible slider will not move/slide after it's been swiped left for a little bit. After a certain point it will just move the slider. Been messing about with it for some time but no joy

I've attached a capx file too...

  • Hi,

Thanks this is almost exactly what I need. The problem is the background sprite/image needs to be still. It works fine for a solid color background but using a a picture/image instead moves the picture as well as the levels.

    How to get round that?

  • Bump.

I'm also stuck with this. I can't work out how I can make it stop when it reaches a certain point?. Anyone have any suggestions?.

    Thanks

  • Thanks but not sure it's going to work for exactly what I need.

So far I've added a background sprite which does nothing. I then created a new sprite which is the same height as the layout, but slightly longer. I modified the collision polygon to bounding box. I then added a drag drop behaviour to it for horizontal only.

This works well - I can swipe the screen beloe the level thumbnails and the levels will move to the left, revealing more levels. But - since it uses a single sprite, I am unable to work out how the user can select a single level to take them to a new layout. Because it is one big sprite, everything gets selected.

Really stuck with this - someone must have an idea?. Can parallax be used with this?.

Edit: Just found this and it's similar to what I need, this example is from another tool though.

  • Thanks, that helped but Is there anyway to actually shrink over x amount of time (0.2 sec), gradually getting smaller to the set size or set scale specified?. Then gradually growing again over 0.2 sec back to original size?.

Otherwise it looks too quick, I want more, smoother movement.

EDIT: Just found the sine behaviour wich seems more what I need. Still can't work out how to shrink the image initially (over 0.2 seconds) and then have it grow back over 0.2 seconds to original size.

  • I have a layout with a background image.

On top, I have a layer with images which I want to be able to swipe left which reveals more images. I have no idea how this would be done?.

    Any ideas/suggestions?.

  • I've searched forums but can't seem to find exactly what I need.

I have an object which uses the drag drop behaviour. Once the object is in a certain position, drag drop is disabled and effectively locks the object into place and cannot be moved again, and then plays a sound.

Once the object is locked into position (and drag drop disabled) I want the object to briefly shrink in size (20% of original size) and then grow back to its original size. All done in under one second.

How is this possible?. Here's what my event looks like

  • Thanks alot - never knew about the repeat condition. Thanks

  • I'm trying to find the best way to spawn multiple sprites from another.

I have a invisible 'spawn box' toward the bottom of my layout. After the user completes the task and level I want 20 instances of the same object to spawn from this spawn box. Each instance should spawn from a different area of the spawn box. What is the best way to do this?.

Is it better to create 10 mini spawn boxes and have a seperate sprite spawn from each one when the time is right?. Or can I do it just from one long spawn box and have all sprites spawn at different points?.

A balloon image spawns from the spawn box, I've just added another balloon so in total there's just 2 so far. I'm sure there's a better way of doing this with concerns to memory too.

  • Thanks for that, it does make sense just hard to work out when being so new. I tried what you said but it seems as soon as I click my mouse (to begin to drag) the dino automatically locks into the position chosen and nothing else happens. Not sure what I've done different.

    Cheers
