    Carbincopy

Are you sure you meant to post this in a 5 year old thread for software that is now retired, i.e. Construct Classic?

Yes as the path finding is still searched in google as 1st result and is a major issue with nodes in HTML5

  • Ok! My racing game scirra.com/arcade/racing-games/lamboracing-4313 uses path finding to move the AI car around the track.

Which acts just like NODES with out writing all the points.

    On start of layout

    find path sprite 1,

on path found move along path,

On arrive and car is overlapping sprite 1, find path to sprite 2,

on path found move along path,

on arrive and car is overlapping sprite 2, find path to sprite 3,

on path found move along path.

on arrive and car is overlapping sprite 3, find path to sprite 1,

on path found move along path.

which completes the loop and the AI just keeps driving around the track.

  • Ok for those of us who need a simple answer to the question of how to Stop a Song or Audio with out all the techy issues that keep coming up. Like Varibles, Functions and all that mess.

Here it is in the simplest way. When playing sound set "TAG" To what ever you want in that event. Then on action like kill enemy or button press Use the "TAG" you set in the play clip event. to stop, pause, resume and what ever else you want to do with it.

    Have fun and enjoy. JC

  • Love the spider web. It has given me an idea for yet another game. To many Ideas floating in my head. Really need to start creating games and not playing with the samples. Take care and Enjoy.

  • Really Cool thanks for the samples. I am having way to much fun. Playing with them.

  • I believe it would be some thing like set angle + add force x / y in direction swing. so that you have a fling effect. But not sure how to code that. Yet......... Having to much fun learning how stuff works.

  • Hi all I like the first 2 ropes. Only issue I see is Ropsies.capx you can't grab the rope and rope.capx you can't jump off or swing on. But Really gives me ideas. As I have been wanting to create a Classic Pit Fall remake. Love it keep up the great work everybody.

  • Thanks to everybody who creates these examples on this forum. I am learning so much.

  • Hello Everybody,

I have created a game. I have tried to get it to work on android devices. It works great in firefox and uses camera capture. But when testing in chrome it will not allow the camera feature. I tried to compile as android but still can't get the camera feature to work. So is there a way to set which browser runs while the game is playing? Or does any body know when chrome will support the camera feature? I would really love to get this game working on android. No I am not sharing the .capx as it is a one of a kind app at this time. I have a whole line of apps that I wish to create but if I can't get the camera to work in construct 2 for mobile I will have to look for another platform to design them on. I already know flash is not supported on most devices and is being whipped out. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks JC

  • Ok, Here is my 2 cents on this subject. The reason it will not work on 90% mobile devices is the same reason why you can't do screen share videos on mobile devices. Those who have jail broke there devices can do this trick but risk destroying their device from excessive memory usage and processor over heating due to removing the safeties that came preset with the device. As Mobile devices catch up with laptops for over all functions this may be a different beast all together.

  • Hello all, I understand what his player is doing. I have that same issue when using sitemaps that overlay each other and on (space is pressed ) becomes both (disabled/invisible) the player stands on thin air and walks right to left until the next pass over the new hole. Best to use sprites for platforms you need to fall through vs using tile maps. Have fun and enjoy. JC
