  • No, I don't think you can turn it on/off with events.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Ok, thank you for the input. I'm really stumped then. All my drivers are up to date and I've done a clean reinstall of construct 2 with no effect. I did more testing in debug mode with events that for example when you press A on the controller a global variable changes. It's just not accepting any input at all in node-webkit preview or export but it's working in chrome when I do the exact same thing. It's also concerning that I replicated the results on 2 different computers. Maybe I'll go pick up another controller and see if it will make any difference.

  • I was just wondering if anyone else with Windows 8.1 and a gamepad is able to use the gamepad successfully with Node-Webkit or not.

  • I was just wondering why there isn't a flood fill option in the tilemap bar? Is there any way this can be added? I believe it would be a useful addition. Thank you.

  • pixel perfick LOL I needed a laugh. Thank you for that. :)

Yes, I'm positive it's genuine. And it does work in 8.1, just in chrome, not in node-webkit.

  • Ashley Really? That's so strange. Now it's really bugging me because I was able to replicate the problem on 2 different machines running 8.1 I was using the same controller but I don't think that would matter since it works in the other versions of windows that I tested, and it works in chrome too.

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone out there that has made a Node-Webkit version of there game which supports the gamepad object? I would like to try it and see if it works for me. You never know, I suppose, and I'm really out of ideas.

  • This is already better then 75% of the games out there. :) I can't wait to see the finished version!

  • If you haven't already guessed, the game is going to be done in the 8 bit classic Nintendo style. The inspiration for the game is based on both the 8 bit versions of Zelda as well as my time playing the text based online game Gemstone IV. There will be plenty of Nintendo style adventure, puzzle solving, and more! Stay tuned for more updates.

  • Ok, so I've tested on Windows 7 and Windows Vista and it worked as expected on both. I've also now tested on 2 separate Windows 8.1 computers and it didn't work on either of them (as before, it worked in Chrome, just not Node-webkit).

Ashley it may be time to move this over to bug reports, unless there's someone else out there with windows 8.1 and an Xbox360 controller that can make it work properly in Node-webkit.

It may also be worth noting that I'm using the 64 bit version of r156.

  • sqiddster works fine on windows 7 for me as well. It's windows 8.1 where it's not working.

  • Just use a different layout for the splash screen.

  • If the animation that you want is the fade away effect, you can just use the fade behavior.

Try that in windows 8.1 if you can. Gamepad works in Chrome but not with Web-Nodekit.

  • I'm still on Win8 and it works.. dang, wonder if it's broken on 8.1?

Can you reproduce it by making a simplified sample .capx?

andreyin Yep, see above post :)

Is there anyone else out there with Windows 8.1 that can test this please?
