  • I've been using your tool for around 4-5 years now, so I thought it would be a good idea to simply stop for a moment and thank you for your amazing work, blackhornet! Sprite Font Generator has saved me many hours of tedious work and I honestly appreciate that. I hope you and your loved ones are all doing well! See you around. 👋

  • 7.000 hours is indeed a lot of work, so your concern is fairly understandable, but what's the context in this case? I mean, is someone completely random trying to get access to your .capx file or is it a business partner like a publisher? Also, if you already have something like an NDA or an agreement between both parties, then there's nothing to fear, you're basically protected by law at this point. You should always sign an agreement when dealing with a publisher! It doesn't really matter if you're sharing your .capx file or an exported version of the game.

  • Hey, gugugu! Ratalaika Games has already found a solution for your problem to be honest, they're a publisher and porting house, specialized at bringing PC games (small or big) to the consoles, and I mean all of them! Including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch.

No, I’m not being paid to say any of these things. I’m just a very satisfied developer who worked and still is working with them! They ported one of my Construct 2 games (Pinkman) and two of my Construct 3 games (Duck Souls and Rabisco).

Construct 3 is ultra fast for game development, so I highly recommend it for creating commercial content, which can be later ported and published by Ratalaika Games. This workflow has been working very well for me, so I thought it would be cool to share it here.

Well, I already gave you my testimony, so if you ever feel like learning more about Ratalaika’s work you should probably talk to Adrián, their CEO. You can contact him via e-mail on ratalaikaovh@ratalaika.com.

I wish you good luck with your projects! I can’t wait to see them running on consoles.

  • 💥 Pinkman 💥

    Introduction

Hi, everyone! My name is Mateus, I'm a programmer at Viridino Studios and today I'm very happy to announce that Pinkman is coming to all consoles, including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch. 🎮

Pinkman was originally made in Construct 2 and released on Steam in January of 2017, but it has now been ported to the consoles using the amazing tech created by my friends at Ratalaika Games (ratalaika). 💻

    Description

Pinkman is a fast-paced, action platformer about a lost man with pink skin and an incredible skill to fart. 💥

Pinkman is set in a deadly fantasy world called "The Mind", where many hazards will try to cut your body in half while you struggle to discover what happened, and keep yourself alive. Run, jump and fart through a minimalist and colorful environment in order to find the truth. 🏃

    Features

Pinkman is absolutely packed with nice features, but here's a small list of our favorite ones. 💡

    • 100 levels - Play 100 lovely hand-crafted levels filled with deadly traps!
    • Tight controls - Jump over missiles, climb walls and avoid mines with ease, optimized controls for gamepads and keyboards!
    • Beautiful palettes - Enjoy sixteen stunning color palettes that changes the levels visuals with every transition.
    • Hardcore difficulty - There's no fighting in Pinkman, so you'll have to rely on your speed, reflexes, and farts to survive!
    • Deadly traps - There are 20 types of traps ready to cut you in half, keep running and farting!
    • Synthwave soundtrack - Your thumbs may hate you, but your ears will love you! With ten synthwave tracks.
    • NEW Hard mode - Play without checkpoints by entering the famous Konami Code (↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← →) in the level select screen.

  • Ratalaika Games CEO here!

We've been in talks with consoles about licensing our tools for porting C2/C3 and a few other engines (RPG Maker, Haxe, RenPy....) to third-party developers if they want to self-release or work with other publishers.

We're already testing this solution to some extent with some trusted partner companies.

So far our technology supports PS4/PS5, XboxOne/SeriesX, and Nintendo Switch with minimal low-level knowledge as it's very oriented to people who don't really know much about C++ or low-level coding.

This is one of our first Construct 3 PS5/SeriesX titles been released soon -> microsoft.com/store/productid/9nvj961mnjwk

We're also offering porting-only services for other publishers or developers, for example, we ported this a few months ago -> nintendo.com/games/detail/hypnospace-outlaw-switch

We also work with smaller titles too like -> nintendo.com/games/detail/skatemasta-tcheco-switch

We're always open to pitches and porting requests if anyone is interested! We work on both paid and % gigs depending on the requests :).

But as Scirra people said, consoles do not intend to support HTML5 as far as we know =/.

Hey, everyone! I'm a programmer at Viridino Studios and I just wanted to step on this thread to give you all our testimony. We've been working with the amazing people at Ratalaika Games for about a year and a half now, and so far it has been great! They ported and released one of our titles on all consoles, and are now working on two more games that should come out in a few months. Ratalaika Games have the best tech to quickly port games to run on all platforms while also having fantastic performance, thanks to the underlying C++ engine. I think it’s also important to say that I’m not being paid to say any of this, I’m just a very very satisfied developer.

  • Yes, unfortunately. 😓 But let's keep working and hoping for some changes soon (capricha no voto! Haha 😊).

  • mumu64 The current state of the Greenworks plugin is not that good, but i guess mumu64 is right, Scirra have a lot of stuff to deal with. Employees, servers, bugs, feature requests and the super time consuming C3 runtime. In the near future we might get the Greenworks plugins C3 deserve, i'm faithful that Scirra will be able to deal with everything.

mumu64 It seems like we need to add an extra command line to the game in the export options in order to be able to display the achievements thumbnail "--in-process-gpu". Sound like a bug in NW.js.

Yes, our government is a bit odd, but Itaú is my main problem now, they ask me for R$ 115,00 everytime Steam send me a payment, which is completely ridiculous.

  • You're welcome!

Scirra does provide a Greenworks plugin, but it doesn't work very well, theoretically you can only unlock achievements and activate the overlay with the Greenworks plugin, so there's no way to access the leaderboards for example. But the worst part is the support for it, since there are really few people working with C3 and Steam, Scirra doesn't seems to be very interested in supporting anything related, the Greenworks plugin doesn't even work with the latest version of NW.js, so you will have to re upload your game with an older version of NW.js, which can cause some compatibility issues. The overlay doesn't even work at all without some extra command lines that you will have to find out by yourself, since they're not mentioned in the documentation. Well, you can already tell that i'm very frustrated with Scirra support for Steam haha, but i'm hopeful that they will fix everything like they always does. In C2 you had to pay for a third party plugin, but at least it worked well.

Cards are easy to setup, you basically just need to upload a few images to Steam and they’re done, unfortunately Steam blocked the possibility to release a game with cards, now you have to wait an undertaminated amount of time before they allow you to add cards to your game, because some developers were exploiting the card system to make some easy money, which is sad.

Steam isn’t very bureaucratic, i didn’t needed to open a company or anything, and they literally send the money directly to your bank account, no PayPal or anything like that.

  • Thank you very much, sir! Yes, can't believe they're finally done haha 😊. C3 is going pretty well, Scirra is slowly delivering everything they promised, i love to work with cloud sync and remote preview, also Ashley is monster on fixing any bugs, so i definitely recommend C3. Yes, Steam always gave me a good financial income, my plan is to become a full time indie game developer, which is completely possible with Steam. 🎮

Yes!! I'm always pleased to see some Brazilian content like Zuerama. Tell me if you ever need some help with C3 or Steam, i'll be glad to give you a hand. 🇧🇷
