If you are willing to work for free, I can teach you everything that you mention here and a lot more. And you will get to work with our awesome team of people.

I took a peak at your project and i have to admit - i do like what i see...

i can't say no to sci-fi, so you already have my interest and i would love to at least give this a shot, so sign me up.

  • Hey guys!

So i have been programming for quite a while now and got the fundamentals down, so naturally i have decided to move a step up - to the web of course

And now i need the knowledge to work on one of my projects, so i am asking for someone to shine some light on me to atleast get me moving in the right direction. All help appreciated!

Alright, all rambling aside, i will get to the point:

I want to publish an online browser real time strategy game (a very simple 2d top down one) on my website.

The website will have a forum and other goodies which the players should be able to access with their account, this is where i have ran into a wall...

How do i make a signup and login page (in game or/and on the website)? How do i make sure the accounts sync up? What tools do i have to use? What else should i know?(because i feel like shooting a dart in the dark right now)

P.S: This isn't important for now and maybe i should leave for another question, but i also want to collect emails of the registered users so i can send newsletters. (also clueless on this subject)

  • Yes you can. Turn based, tiles, relatively static decision making, easy AI. So I believe you can do it in C2. However please note it seems it will require a real good deal of data management of sorts, ie arrays, dictionaries, lots of instance variables to be kept and interacted with. These parts will not be easy on any platform.

Thanks for the quick reply , and i know this is going to be hard thats why i wanted to do this in the most easy way - C2.

Really appriciate the help thx man!! ;D

  • Hey everyone!

So i am thinking of making a pretty big game , and i want to use C2 because it is so easy to use.

Here are my main ideas for the game:

It will be turn based, something like DotHack exept the levels will be much bigger and with much more cell types.:ike the skin, fat, muscles and if you infect all the fat the creature will die , if you don't have an upgrade. You will be able to upgrade so that if you infect the muscles you will be able to advance to other levels like make the creature go infect crops(just chose an option not litterally control the creature).Once you finish or fail a level you will be able to upgrade your virus and see how your virus grows.I might add a function to remake the template of how you infect things. The graphics won't be of the best.

So could i make this game with C2 and still play it propperly?

I know there is an problem with saving and loading so the template thing could not work.

Sorry for my horrible english ,hope you could read it and understand ;D.

  • Thx man!

  • Thanks guys, this helped me alot, but i can't seem to figure out how the enemy will decide witch player to go and attack, like i want him to chose the one who's closest to him .

  • This is a great tutorial on that :

  • Could you please add a Capx with dropbox

    ( scirra.com/tutorials/42/upload-your-game-to-dropbox )

  • I'm making a Beat'em up game like little fighters and i have successfully added the 2 player function like in little fighters where player one has WASD controls and player 2 has arrow key controls.

I have all the behaviors on the Shadows of the characters.

So i have got to the most hardest part of making a game (as they say)-

    Adding AI.

I want the enemy to stand in place until player(s) get close to him and then go and attack the player who's closest to him.

  • Wow..i knew the solution whould be something so simple.

    Shame on me!;D

Well, but we all make silly mistakes and learn from them.:D

I somehow got to fix this in some level.

Only problem is that both player 1 and player to have to be facing in the same direction ;D i don't see any logic in the events here but atleast it works in some level.

  • I guess i can call me picky ,but i want the bulletShadow to be destroyed on contact with EnemyShadow and the bullet to be destoryed with the bulletsShadow.

It could be a cool attack for like an Laser gatling gun to shoot through everything ,but it's a bit too op in my case.If i can't figure this out i might just lower the dmg and go your way,So thx anyway ;).

  • Either the bullets fly past the target or All the bullets are destroyed when one hits the target.

    Check the capx.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • So i have 8 direction movements for my characters.

And Shadows on characters ,enemies and bullets.

I have a ranged character in my beat'em up game

and he has a different bug from each side he shoots.

you can play as player 1 or player 2

    Player 1 controls:

    W,A,S,D - Move

    F - Attack

    Player 2 controls:

    Arrow keys - Move

Num 5 - Attack(check if num lock is on)
