  • Are you talking about the random command? If so, set each number as an option. Random can be found in several tutorials.

  • A Trademark only works if you can establish the brand-name as yours. You probably won't be able to do this with a name like Redflag (in fact I guarantee you can't).

Polo shirts is an excellent case study on the limitations of trademarks.

Beaverlicious would be a fantastic trademark name, if beaver went down that route.

  • As somebody with less than 2 weeks here, I did a tutorial search on your main key words "shop system". it came up with some brilliant results.

I don't have 500 reps to show direct links, but maybe a bit of tutorial searching for info would be beneficial.

  • Having a service like legal zoom plus trademarking or copyrighting your creations is a good step as well. As a legal zoom customer on their premier plan I get a free copyright each month. Pretty nice!

If the term is actually 'copyright', you do realise this is a fictional service.

  • Your developer/site name I presume would be your business's name? If so, then register it as a trademark brand, which will give you (very) limited protection. Each IP address is also unique, but the only realistic protection against 'near names' is owning all of the IP near names yourself. That is, unless you have millions to spend on lawyers.

Most of your game elements will not be able to be IP protected unless you can product something both stunningly unique, and instantly recognisable in the wider marketplace; plus have protections already in place before 100 spoofs are made.

For you to ask this question, you don't understand the limitations of copyright, or of trademarks.

Here's a little thing I wrote several days ago here. The second last paragraph has relevant info on some limitations.

  • Development goals.

Now, i don't know how far you are along with the project, but i'd like to give you the following quote: "When you are writing the GDD, you are not making a game. When you are creating art, you are not making a game. Even when you are working on the sound effects and music, you are not making a game. Why? Because at the end of these activities you don't have a functioning game." Well, i'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea. It's the result that counts and to achieve it you need to actually create something that's playable. Because of this, you should put gameplay mechanics in front of the content generation and refine those first, before making more maps, units etc. I am just saying this because otherwise frustration will set in quicker, e.g. if you try to make 10 unit types in a row without working on something else. If this is your first project, i'd recommend this approach, and i would even suggest that you save the more advanced features, such as the multiplayer, for later.

    To shorten this:

Graphics and sounds is like wallpaper and fittings on a house. They're nice to look at from the start, but you don't install these until you've build the structure to support them.

Build the structure to the game, then worry about graphics & sounds.

  • So you have one event sheet for all four layouts?

So you've gone from layout 1 to layout 2 ok? Layout 2 to layout 3 ok?

Clearly you've made an error in your layout 3 ending event (whatever the event is which ends the layout).

Maybe showing this event would help highlight the error better.

  • AH, right clicking. Thx.

  • Is there any way of creating global events which will work on multiple layers?

I'm asking this because there's a few events which are pretty universal, and it seems a lot of effort to put them into every single layer.

  • I mightn't play it, but stunning game making. 5/5

  • It's a pity the game has never worked in Kong.

  • Try looking on their website for the answer.

  • I went searching for this subject.

Has there been no chance in this? I'm asking because I want to try:

    [quote:2plmwbv0]7:00: Had breakfast.

7:30: Killed the neighbour's cat (not really).

8:00: Had breakfast (I'm big boned)

It would make the text box look much more professional.

  • I had a look at what they call their "best games", and they're all arcades. This tells me the program is limited in depth.

But hey, I guess that's what many people want, so good luck to them.
