  • Wow, Cube? I like the idea of geometric names. I might call my kid Dodecahedron. Could always shorten it to Dodi.

Sephiroth, that's almost as bad as calling kids Star Wars names, like Obi Wan, Han, or, erm, Luke. I'd shorten it to Seph.

  • I would say all games are an artform in themselves The only thing that changes is the style, as with any other medium.

  • Cheers Ashley. My tinterweb gets activated on Friday. I couldn't wait to download the new examples and stuff I see here, so I had to get myself a USB pen drive to bring to work so I can download stuff and take them home! Quite sad yeah, I know.

  • I've just moved house this weekend also. Haven't got internet sorted yet which means I can only use it at work. You don't know how much you miss the bloody internet til it's gone. Not that I've had much time to use the computer, it's been a bit hectic.

  • What's all this talk of Crysis looking crap?!? It really doesn't. It may run crap, but no way in hell does it look crap in Very High DX10.

  • Thanks for the replies. The style of the protagonist is inspired from another pixel artist that i already asked if i can do my art based on it. Is quite simple and looks pretty good, But is really different of the one i ended doing XD

Well, a little more about the game. One of the base game mechanics is the double personality of the protagonist. He can transform himself in something like a hulk. Each personality have his own skills and game mechanics. While the slim one can jump, use ropes, solve puzzles, etc. the "berserk" one can move things, punch monsters and make them stop from moving for a sec, etc.

There is a lot of work to do... but is really fun.

ool, I thought I recognised the style. Is it this dude http://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/12646.htm? Looks like it'll be a very interesting game, the dark and sprawny characters remind me of something off a Tim Burton film maybe.

    Ah awesome! ?

eah, that's pretty much it. The sales reps don't have a clue what it actually possible, and they can be so ridiculously stupid sometimes. Once I was provided with a scanned in photo for a birthday advert, and they'd scanned it with a paperclip going over the guy's whole face! When I queried it, they rep asked, 'Can't you just take it off?' Yeah, I'll just reach into the screen and slide the paperclip off!

  • Yep, that's what we'll call it officially, the Quaziblob. Here's my Quaziblob blood, hope you don't mind I just edited your example for fun.

  • Haha, I edited the effect into a cool blood squirting thing last night! Can't post it yet though, I'm at work, which means I can't see either of those yet unfortunately. I'll have a look later though.

  • Doesn't bother me either way. It only bothers me when people take the piss and have ridiclously massive sigs. They shouldn't really take up more room than your post, the post is the important part.

  • That blob effect is amazing, I can't wait to see the game you're using it for.

  • I always get into debates about this stuff. I'm kinda known for it. In life and on the net. I've been good recently though, and I'm staying well away this time. Basic gist is I'm an atheist who respects other people's beliefs as long as they're not forced upon others. I suppose I'm kinda agnostic, in that I don't rule anything out, but I do believe more in the aspects of life that have proof. Faith doesn't make sense to me, I have to have some proof. Goddamnit, I got into it, I was supposed to be staying away.

  • Yeah, it's mainly the high street retailers that seem to over charge for the portability of a laptop.
