  • Thanks Ashley, i was a bit confused with globals and locals - though local you mean Instance Varibale. It's clear now.

No, instance variables are added in the properties bar. Try dragging a global variable block in to a group of events. It turns in to a local variable block.

ne more thing for you to consider - adding "Toggle Active on start" to contex menu after pressing RMB on group block

There's "Toggle disabled", does that do what you want?

  • These are all great effects, thanks Animmaniac :)

  • Sorry, there's no update! This is a mistake since we upgraded our server.

To stop it appearing, delete your temporary internet files in Internet Explorer, and it should request a new file which is now on the server.

    1. The order of behaviors isn't particularly important right now, you can just reorder them for organisation.

    2. Globals were made event sheet blocks mainly because the new 'local' variables work the same way - for example, you can have a local variable block in an event group, and you can only use the variable in that group. It makes sense to have all variables work the same way, as blocks.

    3. You can also right click the event margin, and in the next build 'Add variable' is always enabled in the ribbon. You don't have to scroll down to the bottom.

  • Did you make the folder public? Other users have got this working just fine.

  • Intel graphics chips have always been crap in my experience. Maybe they're so slow the Classic runtime couldn't go any faster at the same fullscreen resolution (it's a lot of pixel pushing after all). Or maybe the drivers are so poor browser makers have blacklisted them to prevent crashes (I wouldn't be surprised).

I advise anyone looking to buy a new laptop/computer to make an effort not to buy anything with an Intel graphics card! There's usually a nVidia or AMD card option and they're miles better.

  • That's exactly the point :) I've seen people uploading to dropbox public folders too, so you don't even need a server.

Make sure you have the latest browser - some older browsers don't support HTML5.

  • I've read some comments on that tool, and it seems it supports such a small featureset it's not actually that useful for modern, practical flash applications. It's targeted at banner ads and other really simple stuff.
