  • Hey man,

Thanks for this! Really helpful stuff.

  • Hey all,

Is there a clever way to create a two player platformer?

I want to have one player controlled by arrow keys and another controlled by WASD. Essentially it would be a local multiplayer thing.

    Thanks!

  • You are a superstar hero!

    str(Sprite.Exit) worked like a charm.

  • Hey all,

I'm trying to define a relationship between a "Go to layout" action and instance variables.

For example, each door in a room has an instance variable of Exit with values 2-5.

When the player sprite collides with door 3, I want to load the layout called "3".

    I've tried using

On collision with Sprite / System / Go to layout "Sprite.Exit"

But it doesn't seem to be working.

    What did I miss?

    Help!

    Thanks in advance

  • Hey! The demo looks awesome but I can't get the download to work. Just seeing a 503 error when I try and download. I know this should be temporary but just wanted to check if this file is still available.

    Thanks!

  • Certainly do!

  • Hi everyone.

For some reason, although when I preview my game, everything looks great, I try to export it to HTML, upload it to Dropbox and suddenly all I can see is the very top left portion of the screen.

What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?

    Thanks,

    Ben

  • Hey man,

Yeah! Thanks again for the tutorial. Worked really well.

I've made my own version of a wall slide/grip but would be great to see your solution if you have one.

Hoping to have something that at least resembles a game in not too long.

  • Try Construct 3

  • EDIT: I've cracked it. Thanks for your help!

    Cheers guys,

    Definitely getting there.

Now I have a new problem.

I'm using a wall jump in my game so once the double jump animation has played it will then play for all wall jumps from then on.

I tried using the Else idea but the system wouldn't let me add an else there. Maybe I'm getting the structure wrong?

On the other solution, how do I add an "run once" to something?

    Thanks!

  • Hi all,

I'm trying to create a double jumping character. Have used the excellent tutorial provided by BluePhaze.

The mechanics are working spot on but now I want to add animations. However, when I add my double jump animation in, the game only seems to play the single jump animation, regardless.

Is there a tried and tested way to do this?

  • Hi all,

New to all this and hoping for some help.

Creating a metroidvania style platformer/exploration game and doing some early tests. The problem I'm running into is this:

I have created a controlled sprite, with behaviours of Platform and ScrollTo. When I had a small level I could always see the bottom of the screen while running a playtest. I've now made my level taller and when I run a playtest the "camera" is slightly higher, I can't see the floor and at the initial position it is cropping my sprite.

Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

Also, I apparently can't post URLs so I don't know how to add an image to this post to explain my point.

    Likewise, HELP!
